Lowbie Leveling Tips
Ok, I've noticed that a lot of new people are taking a long time to level. I can help you cure this fairly effectively. Most people in the brigade at this point have one character at a mid-40s level. I know Aruncado is almost 70 at this point. I have a level 56 AG and 45 BG and neither took me very long. So heres some basic strategy to get you going:
Basics:
-Stay in SAFE ZONES. When you warp into an area, there are always two choices at low levels: Battle Zone or Safe Zone. Always go to safe zones. If you dont, you're open to random PvP, which is going to be instant death for you at low levels.
-Learn how your gear moves. If youre an AG, you'll start off doing aerial combat, but that will end right around level 15. If you're a BG/IG, you're meant to go fast.
-Unless you're an AG/MG, guns are nice, missiles are better.
-NEVER PAY FOR REPAIRS. When you go to town or land on a landing/resupply area, your energy and shields will self-regenerate. Paying for this is a colossal waste of money. Only buy ammo and fuel.
First 10 levels:
-Missions are great, but keep an eye on your objectives. If you spend an extra two minutes per mission killing a few extra bad guys that you dont necessarily need to kill, you can blow through the first ten levels in less than 30 minutes. For example: one of the first missions is to kill X number of watchers and X number of overwatchers. You're only really going to be able to get extras of one or the other, but do it. It takes an extra minute or two to kill extras, but you get lots of early XP from it.
-Save your drops. You're going to get lots of crap weapons and minerals. You might not think you're going to need them, but you will. The weapons you need to evaluate and keep the best of. The minerals you need to keep ALL of. Selling minerals is a colossally bad idea. Ask Aruncado how much fun it is to scrounge for 40 copper when you hit level 67 for new armor.
-Learn the weapons styles. Speed isnt always everything with missiles. Some missiles are too fast to hit some targets, some too slow. If you're a b-gear, you need to have two missile types at your disposal later on, and you'll understand why when you get there, but knowing the difference will be critical, even early on. Play around with different weapons and see what works best for you.
-Learn to feather and roll. Rolling at the last second will keep enmy missiles from hitting you. Feathering will allow you to outmaneuver a lot of things and keep them in your crosshairs.
-Dying isnt the end of the world. I use dying as a free ride home sometimes. You get charged a small amount for ship repairs, but its not going to hurt your pockets any. You dont lose XP either. If you die, dont sweat it, go back to doing what you were doing.
-READ YOUR MISSION OUTLINES. I see way too many people asking "how do I do this mission" cause they didnt read. If you read it and still have a question, please ask.
Next few levels:
-After you finish up picking your faction (I assume you all picked BCU since ANI doesnt have many TG people other than the ones who didnt care to read the forums first), hunt to level 13 in Tylent Jungle (the map with the bees). At level 13, move to Bach Mountain Chain and start hunting sportys. They look like flying beetles and are found on top of the big ring that surrounds the stone temple (you can see it on the map). Grind these until you hit level 16 or 17 and then start hunting Battle Scouts and Scouts (in the green sections of the map) until you hit 19. From there, kill everything you can until you hit 22. Make sure you're running missions as you level for the XP.
-At 22, move to Blackburn Site and hunt thors and rockys. Be careful as youre going to die a decent bit here from aggro mobs. You'll quickly learn the good places to hunt and the places to avoid. At 23-24, start hunting zennongers. From there, farm zennongers, thors, rockys, blood ammons and hovernus guardians until you hit 30 (keep running missions too).
-At 30 move to zayliope beach and start killing everything. You should have the game mostly figured out at this point.
If you did this right, you should have gone from level 0-30 in less than 4 hours of gameplay.
Extra stuff:
-We're here to help. Those of us that have the knowledge and gear are more than willing to help out. I've kept a lot of my old AG stuff, so I can help the up and coming AGs with equipment.
-Dont try enchanting anything at low levels. Theres no use. If you get card drops, save them.
-If you're a B-gear, learn ground bombing and how it works because you're going to rely on it heavily later on. If you're an A-gear learn how to use siege mode and manage your SP.
-Grinding gets frustrating at times. Stick with it. The PvP is a lot of fun later on.
-Make sure to use any XP boosters you get from drops. That extra 10% helps a lot. Also, run the cash missions at low levels. This will help you when you get to 30+ and have to start looking at shops for better weapons.
LAST WORD:
Try and keep the random commentary to a minimum in this thread. I didnt write this up to be thanked for it, I just want you all to be able to get the most out of the game. If you have something constructive to add, such as hints or tips, please do. I'd like to keep this as easy to read for people as possible.
Cheers,
Ferris

Re: Lowbie Leveling Tips
Great tips! I wish I learned about self-regenerating energy and shields sooner, I could've saved a lot of money. Any tips on how we should manage our money? Like when should we buy the engines and gear armor or is it sufficient enough to use the starting armors up to a certain level?

Dont be afraid to ask for help or items to get yourself started. The right weapon will go along way and make grinding easy. I have a wicked I,B,M, arrow missle from 27+. I used it till 48 and its still near my dps at 55
Also I fly a MG, I get group buffs so if you want some help grinding, ask. I neeb breaks to do something different. The soldier formerly known as, Eroak.

Re: Lowbie Leveling Tips
I second the Soggywaffle statement, and I thank all those yesterday who chipped in to give me a hand.
The advice was helpful, and I found support in our brigade
