    Some raid info:

Raids will only be at lvl 80+. A raid consists of a 24-man group made up of smaller groups. The raid-lvl dungeons ARE tiered both in equipment and in the beginning tiers, objectives. They're planning 19 raid-lvl instances... yes... 19 - that's insane. I seriously doubt there will be that many at release-time though. Most likely, tier 1 and 2 will be available... There are 8 dungeons to tier 3.

There are generally no respawns.. ever. So this means areas that you clear are safe to hangout in.

The raid instances reset after a week. i.e. You have 1 week to finish it. If you enter before the reset and you've beaten the dungeon, obviously it'll be empty. Raids are generally 2-3 hours to complete.

Currently, only 1 person in the raid needs to have the specific requirements to unlock certain linear raid content. (keys, heads, fingers, scrolls, etc.)

From what I gleaned from the vids., the "pathing" in the the dungeons is pretty complex. A LOT more complex then what most of us are used to. You'll have to pay close attention to patrol patterns or risk excess aggro.

I would assume that means the 'commander' prestige class has been done away with then since having a commander in your group expands the number of people you can place in your group/raid.

    Ah well.

Nothing official. Still a 'possibility' from TTH's interview on 1/19/08

I stand corrected. The 2/1 updates included a crafting preview and no mention was made of the prestige classes which used to be linked with crafting. They seem to have done away with that aspect at least.

Are raids usually for higher level characters? Shouldn't a raid scale in difficulty depending on your level?

    Re: Some raid info:

Traditionally raids are the 'end game' material because of the number of people involved. With a greater commitment greater rewards can be given out. Also, its hard to walk people through raids if everyone has to be the same level to participate.

From what I read there will be no respawn in the raiding instances so a group and plink away at it for as long as they care to until it resets. That's kinda cool since it removes the artificial time contraints repops put on raids ("Do we REALLY want to reclear all that tonight for another shot?") but it also lessens the difficulty without such limitations.

Hopefully the difficulty is in the way the spawns act, rather then how often they respawn. Judging from the pathing it looks like that's what they're trying to do in many of the dungeons... we'll see

it was a maybe. Plus its not "removal" rather then integrating what prestige classes have offered before into the game in a different manner.
Simply means, content of prestige classes remains in the game, although it might not be presented via classes.

If it's not presented via a class, then that means there are no prestige classes. You cant walk around to your guildmates saying, "I are Prestige Class." Sinking the abilities into the meat of the game means they're gone.

It matters not though, they're making up for it in other ways like you said... and they've got other stuff up their sleeve. There are plenty of other ways to set yourself apart in Hyboria.

It was a smart move on their part, because there was a game-breaking imbalance involved with it... along with the other class removals. That's the way MMOs go, constant tweaking and re-tweaking. Get used to it.
