What are we going to call the guild?

Or company, warband, association, or whatever the player groups are called. Is it going to be 'Tactical Gamer', or could we cook up some pseudo-Latin that sounds appropriate to the setting?

I've read a bit of the books (Howard's original works) and largely the comics. If you look at the Hyborian world map at the Southern most tip of are the Black Kingdoms which is largely unmapped and mysterious. How about:

The Black Kingdom

Off the top of my head. I'll have to break out my book volume and come up with some names.

Maybe we could borrow a name from one of the mercenary or professional military groups mentioned in the stories, or adapt a name from them.

Aw, let's not be those guys that take something already made from the stories and try to be it. I never much liked that, personally. Also, you can't forget about the eleventy billion other people that will try to do the exact same thing, or come up with variations (Dragons of Honor vs. Dragonz of Honor). We want to stand out and make our own name.

How about "Ars Excellens", which means "Strategy Superior"? Or heck, even just "Ars"? Can you imagine other people saying, "Oh f***, it's the Ars again!"

I think Tactical Gamer works. It's not like we're an RP guild so no need to get fancy.

Ars Excellens is also good, but you're aiming a bit high if you think people will recognize it as latin and not some pathetic attempt to mask 'excellent ass'

I like the idea of using latin for the name. Altough we might not play on a RP server it always good to have a name that can sound like it fits in with the game.
