Screen Resolution Issue...
I have a flat screen monitor that absolutely will not show any resolution below 800x600 unless I force it to windowed. Since most games show their initial install menu in 640x480, that leaves me unable to view options to switch resolution unless there's something I can do in the command line to change it or force it to run windowed initially. Anyone know how I can work this for Conan? I'd hate to have paid for fileplanet to get in the beta only to miss out on playing BECAUSE I CAN'T SEE IT!!!
Stupid monitor.
Please help!

Re: Screen Resolution Issue...
Look in your Program file for AoC for a file called SimpleConfig you can change it from there.

My name: Adept a skilled or proficient person Abyss a deep, immeasurable space, gulf, or cavity
So I'm a very skilled deep hole :D

Re: Screen Resolution Issue...
AG, does your screen go blue with a quarter black? I'm having that issue which could be related to yours (see my thread). Zoopy was helping me last night and we tried various fixes (including your resolution issue) but nothing yet. Hopefully, the new patch will fix the problem or another solution can be found. I'll keep you updated.

Re: Screen Resolution Issue...
No, it just shows no display at all. It won't show 640x480 so it shows nothing. Happens on every game I install until I figure out a work around.

Re: Screen Resolution Issue...
Try this:
LCD Screen options for Conan
While at the Login Screen, hold CTRL and hit ~ (the Tilde key)
This will bring up Alot of Options!
we are worried about one in general witch Funcom has not added to the Regular Video options.
-----------------------------------------------
in the Top Right you will see a option called * Change Device * click it.
at the bottom of the new options menu that pop'd up is Vertical Sync *Off is default*
Turn the Vertical sync to On, then click ok.
This will dump you to windows and reload you into the game.
Click Yes, i want to keep these settings.
Enjoy!
durring the PvP weekend it took my friends PC witch is nice and has a 8800GT in it from 1.5FPS to 60-30 consistant!
*Note!* this has to be done Every time you Launch the game! the settings are not saved after you quit the game!Read the TG Primer, the TGNS Primer and most importantly, the TGNS Rules | My Website!!
birdie_in_Texas:ok..i feel stupid here..what is "NS"..? Wyzcrak:Natural Selection. Don't feel at a loss for not knowing the acronym. Feel at a loss for not having experienced the game.

Re: Screen Resolution Issue...
This is what fixed the issue for me:
Thanks for getting me pointed in the right direction, and thank you Zoopy for linking the thread that saved me!*Edit*
If you launch and have a black screen!?!?!?!?
in the IGNbeta folder you will find a simple config icon.
Click it
Change the Resolution down 2 settings. save and relaunch.*Remember what setting it was!*
At this point the game will look like Crap! its ok.
when the game is at the loading screen go into the settings/Video
put the Resolution Back to what you had before the change.
click accept then ok.
You can also just make it go windowed mode then make it Fullscreen once ingame.
Grats you just fixed the issue.
