    Gloop and Reaper slay Picts:

Reaper and I jumped on last night with a couple of characters and tried out the beta. There were ridiculous load times, and frequently he or I couldn't see the enemy we were fighting because the model just didn't load or whatever. Also, there's a hack (in the sense that it's ugly and temporary, not cheater) to join the same instance with your friend, although I couldn't find the information when I needed it. We ran around grouped but not in the same instance for quite a while until we stumbled on the Day/Night switch at Tina in the tavern. If you group up, and switch to Night mode (single player quest line) and then back to day, you end up in the same instance.

Reaper's Dark Templar and my Ranger made a good duo, although we're still at the levels where very little strategy comes in. I have an ability that attacks in an overwhelming blast and knocks the enemy on his ass. I find it very effective to wait for them to switch their defense so there's an opening, knock them down, and then wade in with 3-4 unopposed hits.

The Ranger's bow shot is nice, but the range is (right now?) too short to be useful. I should be able to shoot people a few times before they get to me, but at least I can keep shooting them point blank I guess.

Once my assassin could wield weapons, I mowed through jerks like a buzzsaw. Also, the assassin unholy stance does wicked damage even unarmed. I beat crocodiles to death with MY FISTS! RAWR.

One serious issue is the target switching. In town there are pirates waiting to jump you. I would beat them up, and then my target would auto switch to a 20th level guard, and before I knew it I was dead. Frustrating.

I wish there had been more actual play time, and less waiting for load times, but very enjoyable overall.

I agree with the load times. But it seems that once you load the map once it'll load much much faster the next time. I have 3 gigs of RAM and ussually have no complaints with load times, but now i have to have some sort of magizine on my desk to keep me occupied while waiting.
