Re: It's on! (new content available)
I am still for PvP I think there is enough interest here at TG that there will probably at least one other playing so you can help and protect each other well at least for you guys. I may have a harder time of it than you guys since I'm GMT and all that. It is just important that you are always on TS while you are playing.
One question I do have is does AoC plan to have voice chat in game at launch or are we down to TS? If there is voice chat it will make things a lot easier, don't have to worry about key binds and playing with non TG people.
I didn't really get into the PvP too much because I had horrible lag due to the crapness of my computer (something I am attending to). I am making my opinion based on theory. Basically it comes down to the fact I like realism in games I play.

Re: It's on! (new content available)
Didn't really have much time to play, as I had to go out of town yesterday. What little I saw of the main city (Old Tarantia?) was rather pretty. Problem is, I couldn't get the heck out of the city (I only had about 30min to play). Someone said go to the NW area to leave, but I got stuck in some noble district in the north instead. And when I say stuck, I mean stuck.
The area was PvP enabled, and after I died in a skirmish I rezzed at the rez point for the district. Well, to get out of the area around the rez point you have your choice of 3 staircases to go up. Problem was, I couldn't get up any of them! I'd run toward the stairs and end up just going beneath them. Sometimes I'd fall through the world and die. I could see other people going up the stairs just fine, but I couldn't get out no matter what I did. After about 20min of random PvPing I decided to use that recall ability (Path of Asura?) to return to my bind point. Well, the game locked up for me as soon as I used the ability and I didn't have time to sit around and relog. I also had random times where there was nothing going on on my screen (I was just walking around the empty section of town) and my FPS dropped to 1-2; and this was on LOW video settings. Needless to say, I still don't believe the game is ready for release, far too buggy yet.
This is precisely why I do not want to be on a PvP server. When it comes to actual raiding or large-scale PvP I'm all for having some kind of schedule and routine. But being forced to group just to make it through the introductory part of the game? I'm sorry, I've played an MMO (Final Fantasy XI) that forced you to group in order to do anything and it was the most dreadful part of the game. Waiting on other people to do a 2-3x weekly raid is bad enough, I certainly don't want to be doing it every single time I log in. Unfortunately for me it's looking like the majority of people here want a PvP server.

Re: It's on! (new content available)
I've been in favor of TG being on PVP server since day 1.
Also in regards to ganking, in 2007 the devs still mentioned about a system in place where repeated ganking would imprison the ganker and he would have to do pve quests or bribe the guards to get out of jail.
Is that in the game? Come to think of it I have not heard anything in regards to that in past 5 months.
