Who will be there this Saturday? (May 17th)
I'm interested to know who will be playing this Saturday? Hopefully I'm not working, and can get my character started and ready to go. This is also when we'll need to figure out our servers we're going to as well.
Another note, does anyone know the actual start time on Saturday?|TG-12th|Undead

Re: Who will be there this Saturday? (May 17th)
I'll be around, and awake no later than 7am CST (probably earlier, since I don't really sleep). Hopefully the game will work. :P
Someone over on the AoC forums mentioned 1700 GMT (which means 1pm EDT) for Europe in one of their posts, but I haven't seen anything official.

Since I'm getting a new computer I've decided to wait until the retail release next week. Hopefully I'll have my copy on the 21st but am sorting of expecting not to have a copy until the 23rd. Maybe GameStop will surprise me.

If you got it from GameStop you'll have it by the 21st. Gamestop is good at getting games in on time.

I'll be there on Saturday at noon CST when the servers open.

Re: Who will be there this Saturday? (May 17th)
Actually: EST= GMT-5
GMT 17:00 is 13:00 EDT and 12:00 EST. Since most of us are in daylight time, the server scheduled start times are:
13:00 East Coast
12:00 Central
11:00 Mountain (unless you aren't in DST)

Re: Who will be there this Saturday? (May 17th)
Everywhere I've seen, GMT and UTC are synonymous; nothing is given in UTC. It might not be technically the same, but culture has pretty much revolved around GMT being Zulu (kinda like the incorrect, but commonly used definition of "irony"). Daylight Savings Time just adjusts how much each zone is off of this.
Hopefully we'll get an official announcement from Funcom as to the start time soon, as the 1700 was just a random person commenting.
And I still say DST is stupid.

heh, don't worry about it. The US has screwed up everything from basic measurements (why don't we use metrics again) to our timezones...

Re: Who will be there this Saturday? (May 17th)
Thats about right ST.. technically GMT/UTC never changes, but parts of Europe that use GMT switch to GST, which is GMT + 1, in the summer.
On the official forum website, at the bottom it states all times are GMT, and for me (being EST) it says I am GMT-4.
SO, if the people keeping things up to speed are following that rule and the release is 5GMT, then that would be 1EST.
Just adding what I read..
Edit: Opps.. yeah.. what FLDash said!

XBox360 GamerTag: P8riotOne (but it might also be my son playing - he can game with TG tho!)

Re: Who will be there this Saturday? (May 17th)
This is confusing the hell out of me. I don't want to know what's gone wrong time. All I know is at the moment you guys are 5 hours behind me on the East Coast.
If EDT is what you guys use during DST then this is where my confusion comes from. I'm also still sure if a random forum post said 1700 GMT that this is 1200 East Coast time. At one point (near Easter) for one or two weeks there was a difference of four hours because one of us moved an hour out of sync (we were the same all year before).
To make sure I'm right according this was posted at 11.16 my time (I'm hoping that's GMT).

. EDT= GMT-5. So early access should start at 1200. I know the bottom of the site says GMT-4 but it means UTC (basically doesn't include DST). At present GMT is UTC +1 and according to TG I'm GMT +1, but I'm not.
