Re: Whose had a chance to play the early release?
System Info:
Dell XPS M1710 (Laptop)
Intel Core 2 (Duo Core)
T7200 @ 2.0 GHz
2GB of RAM
And the most interesting part, the graphics card:
It is supposed to be the GeForce Go 7900 GTX but I guess they substitute the GeForce FX 1500m in notebooks because of heating issues. If anyone has any clarity whether I can call Dell and ream some arse and have a my 7900 installed please enlighten me.
Thanks

Re: Whose had a chance to play the early release?
I doubt it, plus dx10 has been delayed, funcom confirmed it.
Having said that, a clean winXP install compared to whenever your XP was installed (9+ months) usually makes a difference.
Unless funcom actually was able to optimize the game for Vista even though its dx9 at the moment. (that would be impressive :P)

Re: Whose had a chance to play the early release?
I've never had any games ever give me problems because XP had been on my system for more than a month or two. If that were the case, it would mean that in order to have a smooth-running system, you'd be re-installing everything every 3 months or so. Hardly practical. :P
As it is, this system was set up with fresh installs of everything less than 6 months ago, and I have zero performance issues with any other games (WoW, CoD4, Civ4) all turned to high detail.

Re: Whose had a chance to play the early release?
depending when you bought it, and if its still under warranty.
If bought it within 12 weeks ( and received it within a month) call and request a replacement for the laptop that was ordered (if the order shows 7900gtx in on it). You might not have to pay shipping for replacement if its all done within a month of "ordering" the laptop.
However, if in fine print it indicated on the order screen that the parts in the laptop might not be exact as per specification (possible), then tough luck
.
Now if there is no fine print, and its more then a month, request a replacement of the part as per original order, and you will have to ship it in again, (the thing with the laptops, unless u know how to swap parts in laptop, besides ram.)
