Re: Free trial
Er, read thread and profit, I posted in this thread like 5 posts above you about the cost. I doubt they just go and make the transaction for you, that could probably cause lawsuits. Check the legal agreement when you download/pay it could just be poor wording which they do a lot of.

Re: Free trial
No.. it's not super free.. But I don't blame Funcom for that.. it's a HUGE download, and some of the highest transfer rates I've ever seen from a public provider.. $3 is a good deal for the whole game and getting a chance to see if it will even work your you. Pretty much.. if they didn't, everyone with a 486 would be trying to download it and see if it works in every country around the world.
FYI.. if you know someone that will loan the disks.. that key I sent you will work - it's in the EULA that you can use someone else's disks to install and then use your buddy key I sent ya.
But it doesn't matter.. you want to do it.. you are going to do it.. because you want to do it...

Well, it wasn't just the 3 dollars. Its the actual buying of the game once the trial is up, no matter what. I don't want to buy a game that I don't like during the trial.

Re: Free trial
Does it say it in legal writing anywhere that you have to? There is nothing on the forums about anyone having an issue with that, and don't you think massively or for that matter any game website and many news websites would have articles about funcom basically stealing peoples money?

Re: Free trial
Yes, but is it a legally binding document? Does it make you confirm that you agree or disagree? I'm sorry it is just hard to believe that funcom would instantly take the 50 dollars out of your account on trial end, they would be butchered to death with lawsuits. I believe what it means is you must purchase the game to keep playing, they just phrased it poorly.

That is what it means. It's a bit ambiguous but in the end, if you want to play after 7 says you must go out and buy the game and enter a retail code into your Funcom account. Funcom will not allow your account to be eligible for a monthly subscription until you have purchased the game and entered the retail code.
In fact, they will not be able to complete a transaction for the game purchase unless you are sent a SMS code via a SMS enabled cell phone - this applies to all Funcom retail Digital Downloads (from Funcom direct only).

Sure - Message me with your e-mail, it's required for getting the key.
You understand the part about the $3 download fee right?

Re: Free trial
The one question I have is there big losses when you lose a fight? You know in eve where you lose everything when your ship dies, do you lose a lot in AOC? That is what makes eve fun, along with the sandbox.
Sorry I know this is not the place for a question like this but meh.

Re: Free trial
No, but you can be killed by anyone in the pvp zones and it can be pretty bloody instant. Trust me with guilds like the herd, eximos, and dot/honor losing everything in pvp would have killed the game a few times over.

Re: Free trial
Sounds like WOW to me, sorry but if their is not much risk in pvp then it will probably not interest me but I will give it a try and see.
