Syndicusbot offline
My game time has expired, and I'll be taking a leave of absence until my financial situation stabilizes. I can no longer run Syndicusbot on my account. Somebody has already offered their account for Tacticalbot, but somebody from Syn is going to need to fork over their login info for Syndicusbot. To clarify once again:
1. You can play while the bot is online on the same account.
2. I will run the bot software on my machine, an account is only needed for authentication.
3. The bot must be an actual game character, and will take up a character slot.
4. Nobody will steal your stuff or disrupt your gameplay by logging into the actual game server.

Re: Syndicusbot offline
Hopefully someone will step up and provide a login. I provided mine for the Ars Tac bot. This is a valueable tool to use in game and thanks to Saiko to get it running.

Re: Syndicusbot offline
saik0 what exactly do you need, a completely seperate account for this or our active playing accounts? I'm not sure what's involved.
Couldn't one of us just run the bot?

Re: Syndicusbot offline
An active account thats being played on is fine. The AoC chat server is seperated from the game server. There is no limit on how many characters can be connected to the chat server. Theoretically you could have all 8 characters on a single account connected to the chat server simultaneously. This means that you can play while the bot is online.
What would be required is an open character slot to dedicate to the bot, and the login credentials for that account.
Yes and no. Right now the database and bot run on the same machine. It's a bad idea(tm) to connect to a MySQL db from the internet (both security and latency wise). So somebody could run the bot on their own machine but since they dont share the same db each bot would no nothing about the others and their players.
Short version - Yes, but it would cripple the functionality.
Note: We'll have to name the bot something besides Syndicusbot until I come back. Once I do I can delete the Syndicusbot toon from my account and we can go back to naming it that if you want.
