Smart move on Funcom's part. This frees up server space and sets them up to expand the playerbase more easily.

Now maybe people will not be so afraid the game is failing. It aint. Tis getting better.

I don't get what this means, Funcom isn't failing because they have money to pay to Steam?

Actually, yah. There was talk of investors dumping the stock and the AoC staff downsizing. I've seen investors dump the stock, but it doesnt look like FC is dumping the game by any means. An expansion is already being worked on, DX10 coming in less than a month probably, along with new zones, etc. This Steam update is just another pleasant sign.

They've got enough money to weather the storm of impatient gamers that got bored and moved on. Now the trick will be getting them back with WAR and WoW as major competition.

Steam Chat works flawlessly with it as well. I've been using it for a couple weeks.

Very good to see them using steam. It's a great platform to reach gamers.
