    Thumbs up Onyx Chambers Runs

Hey guys, those of you that are lvl 74+ speak up if you're interested in getting more organized with respects to running Onyx Chambers in Kheshatta.

If you dont know already, Onyx is a shared instance (albeit not very populated) that you can raid or just standard group if you'd like. A good group can complete it, bad ones need to Raid. Good coordination is key.

It takes multiple runs generally to complete the 13+ quests associated with it and boss drops are pretty nice in there. Your first real "set" of armor typically comes from Onyx.

I look at the place as the "Scholomance" of AoC (if you're familiar with WoW). It's the place you pop your cherry on organized grouping/raiding in a large, complex, repeatable and difficult instance. Whereas a place like Halls of Eternal Frost or Scorp. Cave is where you go to get a taste of a complex endgame boss.

The repops are plentiful and quite varied. The devs are evil in that sometimes the repops are short, sometimes they're long. You must alter your tactics to coordinate. Some mobs are linked, most arent. The entire complex is a maze of multiple levels and should be mapped out physically as well. Overall it's an EXTREMELY repeatable instance that never really gets old, unlike some of the other more vanilla dungeons.

Anyways, we need to start organizing runs into this domain on a regular basis. Then we'll work into Atzel's Fortress at lvl 78+, where the difficulty ramps up even more and King Atzel is somewhat gear dependent.

All of this is on the road to Black Ring Citadel, Thoth Amons, and places like Kilikki's crypt and Vistrix.

    Let's get to work!

    Re: Onyx Chambers Runs

I'm there. I'm approaching 76 so it's nice to get in and attempt these upper level areas.
That last run was nuts. I think with the last group we had too many players and it got a bit crowded. I'm assuming six is the ideal number in a party for Onyx?

If a well disciplined and balanced group yes. Being on TS is a must in here unless you're in a Raid. And honestly, a Raid isnt as fun. It's just a bunch of chaos in a small space and a lot of people clamoring over only a bit of loot and xp.

    [strats]
Ideally, the MT would tank pull the mobs one by one and bring em down, utlizing bodyblocking and the slim hallways to your advantage; you put your MT, OT, and heavy ranged or BS in front. The mobs are mostly unlinked and dont path much so the dungeon is basically designed for this tactic. If you've got a necromancer you've got extra sources of "Furious Resurgence" if youve got a conq. And a good necro can control the aggro. of the group.

... I could go on and on about AoC strats - it's a fluid dynamic.
