    Atzel's Fortress Run 9/16 9pm EST [updated] + AAR

Figure we try to get together around 9EST and form the group. Say "hey" if you can come. At this point I'd take LvL 60+ to fill the group if necessary, assuming balance... but it's pretty much a lvl 75+ instance.

    Reminder:
Please download Ventrilo for this, just in case we need to PUG to fill the group. Most people use vent and those with TS take too long to figure out how to logon to our TS server.

Unless plans change for me I can't make it this evening. I'll be around this weekend though.

    Easy site to download Ventrilo?

Yah, I actually might not even be able to make it myself. I just realized I'll probably be stuck tracking Ike. Might be on at some point though, but doubtful.

Re: Atzel's Fortress Run 9/16 9pm EST [updated] + AAR

    AAR:
Well guys, we got our asses kicked. Now you see why it's a big deal taking this guy out. You can defeat the difficulty like most games by simply being outleveled/geared for the instance and just running 1 person through to get the quest xp/loot. Obviously we took the moral high-road though and had a few lower-leveled folk.

Our group makeup ended up 2 Guardians, 1 conq, 1 HoX, a BS and a PoM. We lost our initial BS due to unreliability and this seriously gimped the group. Bombaata filled in nicely but we could tell the missing levels were tough to bear on a melee healer (bomb was only lvl 71). The PoM was a non-guildie and it showed. He wasnt willing to go on VOIP and his heals were sporadic and undefined. Strat suffered because of it.

In the end we couldnt down the hardest boss "Osithemes" so Atzel ended up being too buffed to fight while simultaneously trying to deal with the bodyguards. Once we tried Atzel he put out too much dmg. for our gimped healers to deal with so we tried a kite tactic that also failed.

By this time the evening had drawn out and we could tell people's "game-edge" was gone so we called it.

Moral of the story: as the instances get tougher, using non-guildies becomes less viable of an option unless you've got reliable friends. We really suffered losing our initial BS. That cost us time and firepower. Once people got tired, their gameplay also suffered.

We'll get him next time though...
