    Lightbulb Guild Merger

I'd like to start a thread (Gambit had brought this up in another) about thoughts on merging with another Guild.

    Why?

-As it stands I don't believe we have enough of a player base here at TG to keep a viable Guild going. We do have players still active but not of the numbers to fully maintain a solid game playing Guild.

-I want to quest with other players. I can find players to quest with in game but I'd like to be able turn to a Guild where there is a fully active roster of players to group.

-I plan on playing the game for quite some time (it's the MMO that I've seen that fits my tastes) so I want to be with other like minded players who are excited about playing.

I would like to keep our forums going and our own sense of community which we could certainly do if and when we merge.

Am I off the mark here? How does everyone who is active feel? Does anyone have any Guilds they have in mind?

    Re: Guild Merger

    Sounds good FK

I would keep some people active in the guild though to keep the assets. It would be a terrible waste.

    Re: Guild Merger

P8triot makes some good points about new blood being available to exploit (cough), recruit in the coming months. But obviously that's gonna require a lot of work. I know everyone (myself included) prefers keeping things in-house. It's really just a matter of commitment to growth more than anything else.

Building a guild aint easy, but is very rewarding if successful... especially given the odds with a game like AoC. We did it with WoW, but AoC is obviously not WoW.

On the flipside, a good pre-grown guild we can "merge" with gives us instant gratification. And there's nothing really stopping us from funneling TGers to the guild we moved to (similar to what happened in EvE I believe).

I dunno, I'm torn. I'll do whatever everyone decides to do.

    Re: Guild Merger

When we originally discussed this a little while back, I think it was 'loosely' thought that we could wait it out until after the holidays to see what happens in regards to server merges, the DX10 release, more buddy passes, and FunComs promotions to get new players.

Even with larger guilds it is still hit or miss for in-guild grouping for quests under level 70, but it a lot easier to gather the guildies together for lvl 70+ raids and sieges.

I am neutral on the matter at this time, although I believe there isn't much use for a larger guild for me personally at my mains level. It is also fine with me if you guys do find a guild you like and want to try 'em out - go for it, but make sure that someone is left in the guild management position of Ars Tactika that is active.

I agree. I cannot join you guys btw for a month atleast - so many games got out during the fall and they made me poor.

    Re: Guild Merger

P8riot, Gambit, Vulcan and I talked briefly about merging. Does anyone have any Guild recommendations? If possible, I'd like to see everyone join one Guild for a variety of reasons.

Bombatta, if you read these forums still, what Guild are you in? Gambit says they raid almost every day?

I've heard and read good things about Dissonance. The Guild leader runs a tight ship and raids quite a bit. I registered on their forums so I'll try and get more information.

    Re: Guild Merger

I'm currently in the keepers, formerly known as the guardians, with my guardian vulcanos. I'll let you know how they are.

Exophagy is bombaata's guild. I am not a fan of them. Dissonance really not my style either.

    Re: Guild Merger

Keepers/Guardians are the most interesting to me at this time, but would like to hear some more from Vulcan on that. They've got a nice guild website set up too.. not like some of the messes I've run across out there.

The Guardians were good people - I raided with them a few times, mature and teamwork oriented. Probably your best option!

    Smile Re: Guild Merger

Greetings and Salutations. I spoke with fatkid and said I would post, since you guys are still kicking around the idea of a guild merge...so here goes. I miss grouping with you guys but as I saw less and less people on and as I grew closer in level to 80, I decided that in order for the game to keep me interested I would need to experience the end-game content. This is why I joined Exophagy. I can't really say whether you would like this guild or not (although I enjoy it) but I'll try and give the relevant info. The #1 focus of the guild is raiding and we raid 3 to 7 times a week and people are expected to be active and use ventrillo. I would not recommend joining if you do not want to raid at least once a week. I am not an officer or I would just invite any TG interested. There is a short application to fill out on the site (http://exophagy.guildlaunch.com), usually a level requirement of 60 I believe, and sometimes only certain classes are accepted for recruitment based on guild needs...although if there is an interest, I will speak up on the behalf of any TG members. Please make a post or send me a PM. I think our unity, dedication, and measured tactics would make the guild a nice home for those of the TG mindset. Our efforts have allowed us to tie for 2nd place (along with Local Defense) as the most Raid progressed guild on the server (Acolytes have 1st). Info on guild stand-ins, the DKP looting system, and other stuff can be found on the site. Rycon and Valendius are 2 of the Commandents you can talk to, or post in the non-members section. In any case, if you guys merge with another guild post so I know which one. I hope to group with you all sometime soon again... Bombaata

    Re: Guild Merger

The consensus is leaning towards merging with the Guardians. Vulcan, are the Keepers and the Guardians the same Guild?

Does anyone else have suggestions, comments before we start the merger?

    Re: Guild Merger

Yes they are the same. I haven't been in game to talk much but I will say there numbers are a bit low atm for activity. With the people we bring in it would be a bit better but nothing like guild raiding 4 times a week.
