Yeah, that's pretty much awesome.

Re: Legion Emblem
Hey Farris, if it's possible, can you give me the PS file you did for the logo, I'd like to fiddle with it... it's nice, I do like it, but as a logo being worn on a cape or cloak, it's a bit off balanced. I'd like to take a crack at redefining the logo, it's great, but I think it needs a little more work. and if at all possible, give me a copy with the text and font unrasterized.
P.S. I do hope the Text, Sword, and shield, are on it's own layer?

Re: Legion Emblem
Unfortunately not ashura. I have this nasty habit of not actually saving my work until after i'm done with it. So while I do have a PSD copy, the text is rasterized and all the layers have been merged. :/

Re: Legion Emblem
Since we have a week, remaking the logo sounds like a sexy way to pass the time. I agree with Ashura, I feel the in game logo is imbalanced (might as well make our logo "lvl30 Cleric"). My suggestions/excellent idea's.
Logo should not spell out Tactical Gamer, it is too small to read anyways...TG would be fine and its easier to conver to cool looking symbol style anyways.
Logo should have some vertical symmetry...like women (unless they are arranged horizontally--Reik you dog
)...and other things I love and enjoy gawking at.
Shhhh I'm being made

Re: Legion Emblem
I think the Logo is unique and well done. While almost 99% of other legions will have a symetrical symobol with wings and tribal symbols Tactical Gamer will be different. Once you see it in game Guardian you may change your mind.

Re: Legion Emblem
On a design note "balanced" is different than "symmetry". So I think there might have been some confusion about that going around.
As far as a redesign, even if you think a design is perfect you would be surprised what a few iterations can produce especially when done by a fresh pair of eyes. I see no harm is playing around with other designs, and by other design I mean tweaking the current one. Starting with a fresh design kinda makes it hard to make progress. So if someone wants to tweak the design and play around with the balance of the elements I see no harm. You either end up with a better design, or affirmation of the current design.

I agree Red. In fact Guardian is also right. Lets get some more input and designs. Everyone please submit your artwork here!

Re: Legion Emblem
So here are my quick thoughts, and really they are just ideas to throw out there to see other directions the design can take.
1) The whole Emblem seems rather small when compared to the cape/character. I assume this is a due to the length constriction, so perhaps shorting the sword would allow the emblem to get larger. Unfortunately it seems the game makes you place the emblem in the middle, and all the emblems I have seen are based around a square (where ours is based around a rectangle). So we need to design with the constraints of the system in mind, unless there is some flexibility in the emblem placement I am not aware of.
2) Something to consider when playing around with the balance. Right now it seems the shield is placed at golden mean ratio in terms of its X-axis...which I think is working.
Placing the shield at an angle directing leftward(as opposed to up/down orientation) could be an area of exploration. This could add couple things: allow for an unsymmetrical emblem with the shield at the right side, but the "implied direction" of the shield it to the left gives it some counter balance to the heavily weighted right side. It also adds a more dynamic look, something else to set us apart from the other emblems.
3) Keeping the sword the same length, and increasing the shield size so the emblem as a whole carries more presence.
4) Right now when looking at it, and especially from a distance (its most likely viewing length) my eye is drawn right to the dark green logo on the shield. The dark green spot really draws in the in when compared to the grey shield/sword on a white background. I am liking the fresh clean look of the emblem, so I would not try to make the shield darker, rather I would suggest playing around with the contrast/color of the green logo. Maybe even moving the position of it.
5) Playing around even more with that dark green 'Shield Logo' you could tweak that at an angle or even put it partly off of the shield. So it is kinda growing in the the corner of the shield.
That is about it...once again I am not really sure if any of these are good suggestions just my thoughts. Ferris has already created an awesome base, these are just some tweaks that can me made to possibly add something to that base. If you can post what ever file you have ferris, or links to where you do the original items that might help us Ferris. I don't think I will be able to find time to make these other design directions, that is why I wanted to post them up here to others can get ideas from it.
