Post Legion Creation Team (LCT) - SIGN UPS

The Legion Creation Team will be composed of a minium of Three and up to six players (at one time). The first six on Teamspeak and in game will make up the team. Others will donate money or armor if needed to speed up the LCT progress. Im looking at 2 hours as the goal time. This means no time to stop or rest. No time to smell the roses or enjoy the game. This team has one goal. Have one character reach level 9 with 18,000 kinah, and purchase our Legion as fast as possible. I don't know who will want to sign up but most likely we will be getting Reiketsu (do to his being retired) to level 9. We will use this as research for when the game goes live. Is a 3 man group better? Do you do any gathering quests? What quests work as a group, what doesn't? Can the group stick together and still level one person quickly or is the exp split slow it down? Will we have multiple groups race it out at Release?

Things to realize before signing up. Are you available all day Sept 6 and 7th. The 7th is Momorial day. Are you off and Available on Sept 20th and Sept 21st and do you have early access (did you preorder). This is not recomended for anyone looking to enjoy the game. The first 9 levels are a great time to explore and enjoy your new world. IF you join your character will be neglected, until the choosen character (whoever is in the exp lead when first two meet in game) has reached level 9. BY neglected i mean You only follow the choosen, give him/her all your quest items you can, all the money you can, all the equipment you can. You may gather (if possible) and then give to choosen. The Choosen will be responsible for keeping track off all missions and guide the group. He/she will be looking up the next quest while others (if possible) complete the quest they are on. The choosen will only fight when nessary or else will be gathering or planing on how to get to the next area.
Someone who signs up will have to be a Cleric.

Sign ups are in the following format

    Name:
Are you available Sept 6th and Sept 7th?
Are you available Sept 20th and Sept 21st and have preorder access?
Are you willing to be the choosen (must have leveled at least 2 characters to level 9 in Closed Beta)?
Will you do whatever is needed to help the choosen (ie dont go off on your own for your character to hand in quest or something)?

Re: Legion Creation Team (LCT) - SIGN UPS

Well, before I commit to doing it for release, I'd like to use OB as a trial run. I also have a couple questions about it.

First, can leadership of the legion be transferred?
Second, If we're going to do this, can we get a TS subchannel created for the purpose?

These two things are going to be relatively important, to me at least. The teamspeak issue is fairly obvious. We're probably going to have 30-40 people on for OB, which means it's going to get LOUD. If I'm going to be part of a group thats going to be going bash-and smash to get the legion up as fast as possible, I dont want to have to shout over 30 other people to let my group members know wtf is going on.

The legion transferrance is also very important. I have no problem creating a stock looking character to powerlevel to 10 and get us up and running. That wont be any kind of a problem whatsoever. But after that, I'd like to completely ditch that character and go through the process of creating my own badass looking toon (modeled after myself, of course) and get to work on him. If not, then I can still do it, but our legion leader is going to be sitting idle at level 10 for quite some time before I decide to go back and do anything with him.

If we can do both of these, then I'm in on all counts. I'd like to get together with anyone else thats going to commit to this beforehand so we can map strategy. I've gone 1-10 on 3 different characters and have the progrsssion mapped out in such a fashion that I have no doubt that I could achieve it in less than 2 hours of gameplay solo. With 2 other people, I could probably knock that down by 30-45 minutes. However, as we said though, theres other things to consider, such as the fact that we need 18,000 kinah, so it cant just be pure leveling, but I can do this quickly as well provided I have some help.

Also, this is one of the reasons why I suggested avoiding the servers that are guaranteed to be super-populated off the bat (looks to be siel and israphel). Getting good drops and being able to gather the necessary materials is going to be a challenge if theres 6000 people all hunting for them simultaneously. Like I said, I'm in completely though, regardless of server choice, if the first two things are do-able.

So, to meatwad's quartet of questions:
    Yes, yes, yes and yes.

Well, I was retired.. Couldn't take sitting around on the couch anymore. Little extra pocket change helps as well. Not too bad considering I'll be bringing in around 52K a year working part time :P

Anyways, I should be available the 6th and 7th, not sure when I'll be available on the head start yet. So that being said..

Re: Legion Creation Team (LCT) - SIGN UPS

We can actually do this with only three of us. I dont know what classes you two are planning to play, but I'm going warrior. I'll be able to smack out damage and take as much. If we have one other damage dealing class (at least) and maybe a healer (although, 3 dps classes would be best), we can literally do every single mission in poeta in under 2 hours. This will not only get all three of us to 10, but we'll have enough cash to start the legion and some to spare. However, since the open beta is a test run, I'd rather do this nice and slow (well, not slow, but a reasonable pace) so we can RECORD our strategy for head start and do it like a damn steamroller.

But for basic purposes, heres the basic strategy:
Create a character FAST. Spawn in, immediately change to channel 6 (in case you didnt know, each server has 10 instance channels for levels 1-10. This means that the people you see in channel 1 are not there in channel 6). Level to 4. Quickly and alone. This is VERY easy. A few small quests and enough money to get your level 4 skills. After that, everyone meets at the hut near the fork to the forest (where you get the 500 kinah quest from the farmer guy). There we group up. After that, we plow through all of the quests we can get our hands on in a linear fashion. The first GOOD (i.e. green) weapon and any green armor drops you find, keep. Dont buy armor or weaps from the store. Everything we get from drops gets sold. All of the big money quests (i.e. the 500 kinah quest, the iron mining quest, etc) we do. By the time we're rolling into the mine for the level 9 quests, we should all be close to or over level 8. The level 9 quest will bring us over the mark for 9 and then we do ascension.

I managed to do that whole progression in two hours and seven minutes solo. That includes gathering time and rest time. About 10 minutes later, i finished the ascension quest and got my weapon. I also had 14k kinah in pocket. Now, in a group, we increase the odds of getting good drops because we can literally plow through mobs like they're nothing (just let me get first hit so they aggro on me). Also, it increases odds because of quests like the kobold axe quest in which all 3 of us will have to get 6 axes. On that particular quest, it generally takes between 8-10 of the things to get the 6 axes. Solo, this takes about 5 minutes. In a group, killing 30 of them will take about double that, but thats simply because of the respawn time vs how fast we'll be owning them. Me and Nner did it in a group in cb6 when we had no idea what we were doing and it took about 7 minutes for both of us to get our fill.

Either way, i'm not worried about the time on the open beta run. We need to put together a solid strategy so that we all know what we're doing come release.

Well, I'll be bringing the Sorc again. I should be able to be there as soon as the servers come up, but I don't want to commit untill I'm 100% positive.

Of course, as it stands now if I do make it, you know I'm in.

It looks like I'm gonna be away for the first two days of OB so I wont be able to help out there. I'll definately be on for the beginning of headstart though, so I'll be able to help with Kinah and whatever support your group will need.
