I got this from one of the Guides in HatnClox post. This is what we will follow when deciding (in group or in legion) which character will recieve what and which character can roll on what. Now this has not been a problem for the most part but I can think of a few occations where this guide would have made a difference. Like Cleric and Templar only roll on shields. Only Chanters Roll on staffs. Only Glads get greatswords. Basically If your a Class is a three star you get priority on the roll. We will use this chart as reference for all looting.

Also, a note to EVERYONE: Just because you pick something up and nobody is around to use it doesnt mean it wont be needed! ANY green items you pick up (for those new people, there are several classes of items: normal [white], green, blue, gold. The stats on the items gets better in exactly that order. Green are the most common of the "special" items and gold are the rarest.) should go in your warehouse or the legion warehouse.
This is going to be important later on as people progress. For example, in CB6, i found several green weapons that I couldnt use. Bows, swords, staffs, orbs, etc. It was CB and the server was being wiped, so it didnt matter much then, but had it been release, all of those would have been kept for future characters. Remember that just because you outgrow (read: outlevel) a piece of equipment doesnt mean that someone else (or even you) can use it later on down the line.
We will have crafters for just about everything in the legion within a week or so after release, but we need to know that we cant be exclusively dependent on them or they'll never get to do anything else.

Actually, with soul binding, the only hand-me-downs are going to have to be white.
And yes, dont completely depend on hand outs from the crafters, I usually give away the extra gear I make, but others might not. If you can get the supplies (especially the rare stuff like refining stones), I will usually craft it as soon as possible, but don't expect people to drop what they're doing and craft for you, or it wont be a free guild service for you in the future. Remember kiddies, crafting something is a favor on the crafter's time.
Re: Equipment Rules For who gets what in group play
Ferris, I agree with what you are saying, in concept.
People are going to need greens to rip apart for Enchantement Stones. Hell, going to need to be able to make money period.
Now, say I pick up a green bow. I'll send each ranger in the legion a mail asking if they need it. If not, its either going on the broker or getting broken down.
Now, I firmly believe that everyone here in the "core group" will put the legion over themselves, but you have to draw a line somewhere. TBH, with your idea, the Legion Vault would be full in a day of low lvl junk with no room for refining stones or more important items.
Seeing as how all of us have been gaming for quite a few years, I think it should be a judgement call on the individual. Say I loot a 24 bow and we have a 12 ranger, I'll bank it. If nobody at the time I acquire it can or possibly could use it, I'm going to dispose of it. This actually brings up a seperate topic of refining stones, but I belive that deserves a seperate post at a later time.
Re: Equipment Rules For who gets what in group play
I didnt play CB so I dont know if this is possible but can you link items in chat? So if i get something i dont need i can just ask "Does anyone need 'Green shield of +drink serving'?". I'm always happier giving stuff away to people who can use it

I really liked this function of the game, I'd have to say it makes it easy to show someone an item whether they are in the area or not.
I also believe we did a fairly good job in trading/sharing items we've found during CB, and I hope it goes just as well (if not better,) for the live game.

Bump for new members!
Also all TG Legion groups will follow the below rule:
Group loot distibution is as follows. Round Robin - roll on green or higher. Players only roll on items for their class. For items of a class not represented in the group anyone can roll. For items that are not class specific anyone can roll.
Three stars on the chart in the original post marks which class is entitled to roll on which item.
Re: Equipment Rules For who gets what in group play
I disagree with the usage of spellbooks and orbs being separated for Sorcerers and Spiritmasters as both of them are similar in stats (unless counting unique ones) and both of them are dependent on the manastones used by the player. So in fact, I can make it used 100%, not sure how they came up with that particular star system for orbs and spellbooks.
I went to the website and found out why. This is dated over a year ago and much has changed! For example: Clerics can use chain (best for their class) and sorcs can use orbs. I suggest we make a better list to replace the misleading images above.
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:
