Thats why I like TG so much but it was too short. I would prefer to stick with TacticalGamer b/c its our home. I was extremly upset and dissatisfied with the name change in AoC.

I have to say I was thinking the same thing as Vulcan. It is kinda silly to herald a RP character name and then out legions is "TacticalGamer" or "TG". I highly suggest we pick something new, and it does not have to be a far stretch, it can have the word tactical in it. Just maybe replace the gamer part with something more fitting

I disagree completely. If this is going to be a legion representative of tactical gamer, I think that intentionally avoiding the name for the legion is sorta disrespectful.
"Sure, we're claiming we're the TG legion and we use the forums and TS there, but we're too good for the name."

I talked with meatwad at length about the name thing, and heres what it boils down to: it doesnt have to be an RP name. It can be any reasonable name. The things we're trying to avoid are things like "Yourmom" and "KillerCleric" and "XxSuperDudexX". Its so that we have some kind of uniformity and dont look like we're freaking 12. It has nothing to do with RP. At all.

Yeah ferris that is the point of the name thing however some people like to connect more to the universe and have a name to reflect it. Being respectful to TG is not in the name but in how you act and play. While the name can be the exact same as the community name these are Role Playing Games and people like to play roles so it's not a requirement nor is it disrespectful to use another name.

Meh, I would like it not to be TG or tactical gamer. I only dont like the name because there's too many people asking if we're the same TG from X game: WoW, AoC, etc. Personally I don't like being labeled as a WoW guild, not to mention I don't like living in the rep from other game's TG guilds and legions, good or bad. Not to mention its kindof annoying getting asked every day from random people.

I think we should get a new name just so we have a fresh reputation.

"Tactical Gamer" does not fit into the world of Aion in my opinion. It would be quite the same if I named myself "swiftgamer"...it just stands out when in the background of the Aion world. As Vulcan mentioned it is not about the disrespecting the name, if you herald the ideas of TG then that is what matters. The point of playing in Aion is to have teamwork and support, not to boost TG's name...if someone is really interested the TG name is only a URL away. So really it is the gamer part that stands out, so we could just go with "Tactical", or Tactical-something Aion Related. Think in past games they have translated it into Latin.

Having said that, I play the game to play with you guys. That is not going to change even if we are named LordMeatWadsPanties. I just trying to point out something that is out of place in the Aion world.

I think Red hit the nail right on the head. As stated by Vulcan, no one is looking to disrespect TG in anyway, but seeing as how this is a fantasy game, perhaps we could pick something a bit more fantasy oriented?
