Get rid of Name rule
Well Ferris and others have told me I am making up too many rules. As I will not budge on the Legion name being Tactical Gamer (i hope i dont lose anyone over this). I will put the other rule I came up with to vote. Also we will allow minitures.

Re: Get rid of Name rule
I may change my name from GoldDust to somethings else. What kind of problems might this impose?

Re: Get rid of Name rule
none, so long as its not like XxSuperDudexX. but i think you've got the gist of whats going on from the previous thread. however, if you do change your forum name (which can only be done by sending a PM to the TG admins and having them change it for you) just make sure we know its you.

and meatwad, we only said you were making too many rules that day when you started saying things like "no bad names, no minis, no giants, no crazy looking people". but you toned it way back when guardian made his mini...as if you had a choice in the matter.

Re: Get rid of Name rule
I might be going back to my regular in-game name which is Nonoka. I normally just use Reiketsu for the forums because it normally describes my posts.

Re: Get rid of Name rule
Thats cool. The only thing that I ask from everyone, since rei is on the japanese name thing, is that even if you have an RP name, sometimes they're hard to pronounce, so pick something that rolls off the tongue without tying it in knots. like rei's name choices. ray-ket-soo and no-no-kaa are easy to say.
however, regardless of your name, dont be surprised if people in teamspeak call you by your forum name. anyone that played open beta knows that nobody called guardian by his in-game name. i dont think i heard it said more than twice: once was when he was telling it to me so i could add him to the legion, and the other was meatwad trying to add him to a group and asking for the spelling..which was comical.
heres the conversation:
Meatwad: guardian, how do you spell your name so i can invite you?
Me: z-o-d-...
Skinnee over the top: g-u-a-r-d-i-a-n
Meatwad: no skinnee, guardian's in-game name
Skinnee (laughing hysterically): g-u-a-r-d-i-a-n
Meatwad: ugh...
Me: quit screwing with him skinnee, he's going to have a meltdown.)

Re: Get rid of Name rule
Just wondering Neo, why did you make a poll about the character name rule when alomst everyone agreed with it, but adamant about the legion name when most of us don't agree with it? Im not too upset about the legion name, but I think it was kind of a buzz-kill and a bit hipocritical to say we need role-play names when we dont even have a role-play named legion. Don't get angry or anything, it's just an observation.

Re: Get rid of Name rule
Well we can still acknowledge our selves as TG, but I think having a more role playing appropriate legion name, so long as we promote TG, talk TG, reference TG, live TG, we can still be TG, just without being named TG. We could even do what Ferris (I think it was Ferris) said and just translate it to latin or some other language, and still even have TG as our title, and we could even have TG as our tag.

Re: Get rid of Name rule
Wasnt me. I only speak two languages: english and bad english.
However, The problem with using TG as our legion tag is that legion tags are a minimum of 4 characters in length as of 1.5.

Re: Get rid of Name rule
Frankly I agree with both sides and at this point I don't think its really THAT big of a deal. In the end it will be overlooked reguardless. Besides, if my prediction as to what server we're going to end up on is correct. There are Asmo legions called "The Midget Killing Institute" and "Uberpwnzorz"...I think in the grand scheme of things our name isn't THAT off base to ruin any RP fun with people setting standards like that.
so no worries
Shhhh I'm being made

Re: Get rid of Name rule
I'm glad of the basic ground rules. After 4 years of regular MMO gaming you just want to avoid the annoyances of poor attitudes and behavior. A name reflects on the person and the group to which they belong, so while i dont take it completely seriously and feel the name has to reflect my personality and beliefs, a lack of ground rules just leads to grimace worthy moments later on. I understand why meat is set on Tactical Gamer, because thats the brand name he wants to see built into a name more people recognize and respect in this game and future ones as well.
