Re: AION: Tower of Eternity
I am actually somewhat excited for this game...which is bad haha. It is always hard to tell from screenshots but it seems like this game has a really nice atmosphere to the environments. That is one thing I really like in RPGs, that going to a new area is actually exciting. So games like FFXI and AoC (at least in early game)...also one of the reasons I hated WoW not very detailed environments.

Re: AION: Tower of Eternity
Since Neo placed pics up I thought I would as well...
As soon as I get 15 posts or more... till then
Beta 3 went well, got to dive deeper into the combo system and it seems to be shaping up. Though I have not been able to mess around with the other classes, the I've been focusing on is alot of fun to play. I can't wait till next beta.
Edit: Ahh there we go...
Character Select

Character Creation Screen

Flash Back Cut Scene with my character

Armor shop? That way...

TG Legion... we work hard... we play hard... guess we rest hard too?

Re: AION: Tower of Eternity
I never liked FFXI played it for a year and wasn't into AoC that much... not trying to back up WoW, but they did it for a reason, and that being was, WoW had to keep the look and feel of Warcraft and going too far from the style would have pissed hardcore Warcraft fans off and they would have lost alot of people, another reason why was almost everyone can run WoW w/out really upgrading much, todays cheapest prebuilt desktop as well as some laptops can run wow w/out any problems. FFXI and others... especially Aion, have graphics that make you go "Oh wow!" but at the cost of a really good rig.
I played WoW since alpha and that was when Warcraft 3 had just come out. So at the time it was amazing the stuff they did with good textures and a low polly count so everyone and their mom could play on low end comps. other games were way too much and kept alot of the people who could not afford a good rig out. Aion is no exception... but I will say that it's an awesome game so far... the play machanics are great, the grafics are awe inspiring and the UI dosen't feel cluttered and unfriendly like most MMOs out there right now.

Re: AION: Tower of Eternity
Oh I totally understand why WoW did what they did, being low req. is a huge part of it's popularity. It just did not really embrace me, and it was not necessary the style but more so the lack of detail and everything is so spaced out. Once again you can not have a cluttered environment and low graphic req. especially if you want like 50 people on the screen at one time.
But to get away from other games, it is good to hear that Aion filled with charm and detail. Those pic/videos on the beach look amazing and hearing you guys talk about how much fun the game can be, is making me want to go out and preorder it. It is also good to hear that it seems to be gathering a following here at TG, as that is one of my other loves of a MMORPG is having a group to go through it with. You would think that is a given with a multi-player game, but with more and more RPGs going pro solo it is not so much anymore. I rather have leveling take twice as long and have an awesome party system, then to just solo through the game. That is one reason I liked FFXI is that you needed a group to level, and you needed a group to coordinate combos/chains together. The down side was it took forever to get a group set up and get out to a leveling site and then just hoped your white mage stayed long enough so you could get some XP.
Speaking of that I know Aion has a combo system, does it play into group fighting at all? Is there any unique party features in the game or epic/group quests?

Re: AION: Tower of Eternity
So far I have not seen any epic quests but I'm sure that there will be, taking on some of the mobs that we've been attacking, who's lvls are 18 but seem to be tougher then a single lvl 20 Templar, required us to have a full group, a group consists of 6 people, an alliance (which is what they call a raid in Aion), that I've seen, can consist of 4 groups, not sure if there can be more but that's a total of 24 people, but the fights were pretty epic themselves. I have not seen any unique party features but noticed that within the party we had someone with an attribute boosting aura. Now I can be wrong since I have not played any other class and do not know anything past what a templar could do but I'm sure that those who have can fill you in.

Re: AION: Tower of Eternity
Nice pics! Just so everyone knows Ashura Kenzo is Celest in pics!
OK so some very exciting info has been posted as of late.
1. Everyone was wondering what version of Aion would the US be getting? 1.1, 1.2? Well the answer is 1.5! Yes upon launch Aion US servers will be running the same version as China and Korea (i think) which are both running 1.2 now.
2. Whats in 1.5? Well ALOT! and i mean ALOT! for full detail go to this link where the Korean 1.5 patch notes are translated WITH pictures!

Re: AION: Tower of Eternity
Is it time for the next beta event yet?!?!?!? ;; I played FFXI up until the first Aion closed beta and have lots of good memories and friends from there. The only thing left to console me this week is the fact that i'm having my new rig built. I could wait until win 7 comes out with all the talk of ATI's new video cards and Direct X11 but meh ... sounds really expensive,

Re: AION: Tower of Eternity
After you have 15 posts you can post screens by linking an image hosting site like Photobucket: www.photobucket.com However you cannot spam post to get to 15 posts! That is against TG rules.
