At this point i have to pull my support for this game. This thing is archaic in it's style of shooter and really quite a lot of people just aren't enjoying it.
The main things for me are:
no scopes
no first person views
jumping shotgun idiots
jumping to avoid fire
upgrades are a mess (mainly unbalanced and given only to the best clans/players)
driving is decent but needs better response
lack of content in missions to actually get a good game going.
Very easy to just cheat the game mechanics with a couple opposition buddies.
I don't see it getting corrected but i'll standby in the beta.
A lot of my problems are also the kiddies screaming "It's Just a BETA we aren't expected to be playing the whole game and testing."
I'm sorry. That's exactly what we should be doing. The game is 1 month or so (give them 2 weeks to shut down the servers, RTM, ship to store) away from release.
There is NO excuse to be withholding 60-75% of the content from the testers, to spring on/fix "after release".
Some of the other things.. We have community organizers and Customer Services members on the board doing anything BUT communicating with people. The server bear's eaten a ton of characters. There is like 15 topics on it today. Not one has had any kind of "we're looking into it" posts. Tons of other bugs/suggestions. Not a one.
Instead we have people like Monstro (community laison) posting 4 times in the recruitment threads about how Something Awful goons are awesome and he's one. And a necro-post by a CS guy reviving an almost 20 days old post from someone in start of NA beta, about how to find the Beta agreement.
And that's all the communication we've had so far for the past 5 days.
Good job with that recruitment, there, and having someone like that associated with your name and company, posting on your company's letterhead and time.

DICE needs to make a comical boxing glove attached to a spring punch the player in the face 40% of the time they get into a helicopter or jet.
It feels like GTA4 multiplayer except it doesn't work, uninteresting missions, and lastly this whole notion that skills matter not levels but we're only going to give ungodly upgrades to the best players making them even better. Huh? At least in WOW I can grind out some levels against the environment and have fun. Here it's painful to get slaughtered.
The game's performance is horrible to. No support for 32 bit systems? Really?!
While the concept was amazing I think the actual product has fallen way short of expectations. I was so happy to get beta access and had a blast the first couple times I played it with Browna, Socom, and Viper. But now, it has started to become a chore. I have to keep accepting missions against overpowered enemies just to get enough money to get a good gun so I only die 80% of the time. Alot of the unlocks are not the same and its way easier to be a criminal and get super stacked. I created a Crim just to test this and in one day had more powerfull everything when compared to my enforcer whom I have put in almost a week. Not to mention the mechanics are still way to clunky for this to be so close to release. Several missions are stuck in loops, driving latency problems cause everyone to run into everything. VOIP has gone the way of BC2, and all they can say is "are you sure your mic works?". Seriously? Personally, this game has gone from a must buy to a I can do without.
Performance wise, it seems to be great for me. It's lacking in a lot of content, being only PVP is a big drawback.
Thats one of the biggest problems. If they had a setup to where you could "grind" up without worring about bunny hopping shotgun kiddies, it would make the PvP aspect more interesting. You wont be able to completely level the playing field, but you can help make it fun.
IT's a real shame too because i loved the concept art of the game and the customization was the best anywhere. It had a lot of potential but unfortunately it seems the devs just aren't up to par.
Then again, RTW has only made one other game, called "Crackdown", it was very fun, but got old quick, and it was exclusive to the 360. So, since this is their second game, they don't have much under their belt, besides one average-mediocre game.

All game companies have to start somewhere. Once they get full inboxes and exploding forums about this that and the other they will patch it. And who knows, 1 or 2 games down the road they might have a release that is solid.
Supposedly now the NDA has been lifted but once again RTW has provided NO communication (not surprisingly) telling us this.
Beta is over as of 6/10. They've now moved to "Keys to the City" mode, where people who preordered and people who were in the beta get... 5 hours of action district time. Now the excuses have shifted from "It's just a beta!! they're still working on things and getting ready for release, of course things are going to be broke, they need to be tweaked!!" to "Guys, this is just the Demo and they are still tweaking, fixing and punching things to near perfection!"
Key to the City is worthless because it's 5 hours total of actual gameplay (supposedly character creation and social district doesn't count but theres been more than a few posts saying char creation has been decrementing their hour count.) With no beta character wipes, so they're playing against established R220+ characters with all weapons.
And after the event and before the 10 hour head start preorder, everything will be wiped.
And only in the last day or so have new community officers/PR people been posting. But still it's mainly Monstro with his familiar 1-line comments on things and no real information or insight (Now called Toxico)
