Sucks. But then, that's the problem with these new MMO developers trying to make a game to compete in the same market as established IPs like World of Warcraft. Yeah, WoW was an unpolished piece of garbage when it released (of course, now it's a polished turd, but that's just my opinion), but then, that was expected of ALL MMOs at that time. That crap doesn't fly anymore and yet, we keep seeing the wheel continually being reinvented out of stone.
The game had its issues but with a group of friends and a night free of hackers, it was a blast. So much potential down the drain.
I know nothing about this game, but how can they get away with shutting down their servers not even 3 months after the release? Seems to me they could at least scale back their servers to keep the current players going.
The company went nearly bankrupt and last month went into Administration. Without a new investor the assets will be liquidated.
<04:11:24> *** You are now talking in channel: "TFP - Task Force Proteus"
<04:16:25> "|TG-XV| Tralic": this channel is so gay
DICE needs to make a comical boxing glove attached to a spring punch the player in the face 40% of the time they get into a helicopter or jet.
I was quite shocked to read about this this morning on CVG. I knew the game wasn't doing well but I didn't think things were this bad. Just glad I didn't decide to go ahead and buy it...
The game was a disaster from the get-go. Perhaps RTW should've spent their money on creating Crackdown 2 instead of blowing their load on an attempt to snatch a piece of the MMO pie.
well.. there is a private server project with promise. No purchases required, and offers the same experience. Might be an interesting diversion when they put their server up.
Not even 3 months in. I've heard the gameplay was just deplorable, probably didn't help it compete against big-names in the market. If EPIC acquired it, I'd say they would begin reworking of it pretty quickly to give it a chance to compete.
As for the private server: http://actiondistrict.com/
I think it's the one being run by some of the devs who wanted to help keep the game alive even if the company went out. Or maybe not.
Eight months later I finally received the reports from three peer-reviews on my latest manuscript with the University of Toronto Press. This will be my third book with the same press and the second...

Rage makes a great case for using the VR as a place for training as a sniper. Virtual training rooms for training in virtual warfare.
This post is a great TG read:

Bravo Microsoft, you have now surpassed EA in poor decisions and once and for all seized the crown for the worst 'Reveal' ever. That EA were standing there on the stage with you when you did it was...
