Discussion: America's Army / America's Army - General Discussion - Great games on Bronco's Brigade - After tonight I do have some hope for tactical gaming on Americas Army 3.0
Great
I agree whole heartedly. I was starting to think that the tactical side of this game was gonna go down the drain, but tonight has reassured me that there is definitely hope. Some great rounds from everyone, a great night!
Great rounds tonight fellas..... great rounds. It's looking much better tonight than it did last night. We will have to adjust to the new game mechanics as we have for all games but I must say after tonight my confidence has been brought back up.
It's not really that we were trying to keep things hush hush about the server.... we just didn't want anyone thinking we were trying to do something outside of the TG community. We want to make sure everything we do is a shining example for others and makes others feel good about being a part of our team/community.

i agree we all have to learn to adapt and BREATH!!!

I'd have to say you guys brought back the meaning "Team Players" last night. I have not played like that since my rogue spear days back in 99,2000 and early bf1942. It's nice to play with a team that works on objectives, and completes missions instead of worrying about how many kills they get.
Hey med, reckon i could get an ip? Through a pm if you want, I'm gonna try and get into AA3 now

One thing that is a major factor in this is the new DEV team that's been put in place.
The previous DEV team seemed like a lot of excuse and slacking (note: seemed. they probably did have very unrealistic and restricting ideals from the people overwatching the production of the game. and being laid off 2 days after a big release is even less of something to just brush off as 'they deserved it')... but the newer DEV team has fixed some of the first major gameplay issues, and hopefully will begin working on fixing some of the graphical and UI bugs soon...
These changes have made the game mostly stable, so hopefully it will continue to improve.
Game breakers at the moment:
1) Choose to spawn in as X, but actually spawn in as Y
2) Stuck in a fireteam that is no longer available to play as (Leaving you as the only one left in fireteam C with no way to change classes till end round).
3) Being revived/starting the round with movement/visually impairing glitches (can't move at round start, revived with weapon stock in your face making it impossible to aim)

There is no NEW dev team they just laid off (or fired depends on which story you believe)all but 2 possibly three of them. And your probably right about the higher ups dictating about how the game should run compared to how it will run. Were still posting errors to them but it's a slow process now with only 2-3 dev's left. Seems like the whole MBS tracking system is out of whack again showing up to 130 players in one server and only 90-110 servers actually showing up in the browser, compared to over 370 before the last patch.

I remember reading somewhere that one of the old devs posted about how he was fired, and then mentioned how the development was being transferred to someone/something else.
It's been a while since I read it, and don't know where to find it again nor do I remember what the recieving party of the development of the game are named.
Maybe that wasn't/isn't true or is not as of yet, but that's what I had heard.
It's a bit hard to believe that only 2-3 Devs have created multiple patches after release, alone (the first may have been slightly underway already, but the others must have been the work of new devs)
EDIT: Found it in these forums...
future development of the free-to-play PC military simulator will occur at the program office in Redstone Arsenal, AL.
thread "America's Army Devs Laid Off Following Launch"
Whether the statement implies that development had transferred to Redstone Arsenal or whether it 'will' be I don't know, though I assume the former.
I know where were allowed to talk to them privately as game service providers there are only 2-3 responding. But there are other people involved or that have worked on different parts of the game (probably sub contractors) that are still posting info as well. They did move all the operations to the Redstone Arsenal though.
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
