New patch locked me out
I started the game, patched up and then it would not accept my password.
I attempted to retrieve and it doesn't send me an email.
I then started a new account with the same email and username and it says that player already exists.
I then logged into the main site with the same username and password.
Has the new Patch borked things?

Just a quick trouble shoot question, did you make sure that your caps lock was turned off while typing your password. It's one of the stupid little things that I screw up all the time, thats why I ask. If your sign on information is working online, then it should work in game also.
Whats the Deal with the tiny sig limit?

Check the sticky for your account page via web and use that interface to decide if it's something in the game or your actual account.

if you can log in there then you should be able to log in to your soldier in the game. It's the same username and pw.

I was having so much trouble that I had to finally uninstall and reinstall the entire program after downloading a new installer.

From what I've been reading today the AA3 authentication servers are undergoing maintenance right now so you probably won't be able to get into the game. There are a number of people who are finding AA3 completely freezing up on them after they launch it from Steam. The word is that once the servers are backup and running again everything should be good to go.

AA3 news item on the subject:
AA3 MAINTENANCE PERIOD – STANDBY MODE ENABLED
Posted: 17 JUL 09, by Phoenix
We are in the middle of a maintenance period for AA3. While we update and expand the database environment, we have enabled Standby mode which allows you to play while we finish up the maintenance.
Some notes:
All servers will run in "authorized" mode (i.e. they don't accrue honor)
There is no password validation
You will not be able to create new soldiers
If you created a soldier very recently (within the last week or so) you will not be able to play with that soldier
No statistics will be kept regarding game play
Every soldier is marked as having completed basic training
We do not currently have a timeframe for when the update will be completed, but are working to complete the work as quickly as we can.
Please note, this information applies to AA3 only, AA2 remains fully operational.
Thank you for your patience.

Re: New patch locked me out
I use the deploy client and it takes less than 10 seconds to launch and update the server list (blazes). Its hard to help fix a problem that I haven't had to deal with. Try following Vulcan's post and if necessary file a support ticket and let them advise on correction procedures.
