Learning gradient with AA?
Hey all. Can anyone fill me in on the learning gradient with AA, specifically the version on our server? I tried it out a few years ago but lost interest pretty quickly. Sounds like it could be fun to pick up a nite a week or so...
Obviously I play BF2 quite a bit. What are the big differences between BF2 and AA?? Thanks!Beatnik

AA attempts to be more simulation than arcade. Things like no map / mini-map... no friend/foe indicator... weapon accuracy / recoil, etc.

Beatnik get back into this game. If you still have an account you will not have to do any of the tedious training. I just started playing the game and it is awesome to use the tactics we all want to use in BF2 but you cant because of the commander assets and the air power. I challenge you to come back, Bring it on. Please.

I like it no air support or vehicles. It is getting addicting again. Much slower pace than BF2. The maps are sometimes huge with a smaller round time.

Tonight's games were pretty fun even though most of us didn't know the map. We had some really good teammates that were pub's, I hope a few show up here. I told them a few times to check out the site.

LOL, so true. I didn't think about that, luckily he had my back a few times. I usually dropped first then Squid would just off himself a few minutes later.

Yeah and they let me have the SAW too. That's usually bad news.

Yea, that was hilarious! You came up the ladder and I filled you with lead. Then I hear someone down below throwing a grenade and I'm wondering when it's going to land under my chest, and next thing I know "Squid blew himself up"

I saw the nade go straight up and then couldn't find my new key bind for run.... good thing I cooked it off too!
It's a really good game beatnik, and just like BF2 it's much, much better with the TG folks.New to TG? Start here!

Re: Learning gradient with AA?
Last night was basically my first time playing AA beyond the training, and I think I picked it up pretty quick. Unfortunately, I only got to play briefly on the TG server, and spent the rest on another server getting my honor back up to 10. It's not too difficult to switch from BF2 to AA, provided you stay in the TG mindset. It's sorta like BF2, but with careful infantry combat. And also realism etc.

Thought this was pretty good information........."If the sword is always sheathed, it will become rusty, the blade will dull, and people will think as much of its owner." —Yamamoto Tsunetomo, Hagakure: The Book of the Samurai
I prefer a challenge and teamwork rather than a stat loading server without sound tactical ideals.

Good stuff. Thanks vodka and thanks everyone for the quick refresher. I'm curious how AA will have changed using our TS servers and playing with people I know. I may be on in the next couple weeks.
