So since we have a good following with that game around 10-12ish....what do you guys think about using real military medals and makeing some for AA...i got a list and page of the current medals i could mod them to work for us....what do you guys think?

i think Sloppy came up with this idea)that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: AA medals
Only if there's a medal for tossing a grenade and having it bounce off the wall above the door for which you were aiming, having it bounce back to your feet, and then blowing up.

Re: AA medals
OK trooper, just because I mauled you last night is no reason to misrepresent me. I merely suggested we have a medal for the most TKs. I guess other medals would be ok...

We'll call that one the "Increase Perry's Honor Medal"

Yea, Squid blew himself up the other night when I was coming after him too.. Seems people know that I'm coming after them and just commit suicide
I deserved a Medal of Honor the other night for sacrificing my life for the life of the VIP on Mountain Ambush. I was standing in front of him trying to heal him when Sloppy threw down a grenade. The shrapnel hit and killed me, but the VIP lived! Then someone came around the corner and shot the VIP in the back
Are the medals BF2 specific? Is there any reason that an AA player couldn't get a Combat Action ribbon or Distinguished Squad Leader ribbon or something?

Re: AA medals
I think its a great idea to have awards for AA also. I also agree that they should be slightly different from the BF2 ones and more AA specific.
Maybe make them actual medals instead of ribbons. I dunno. But definitely make sure the AA guys are recognised.

Re: AA medals
i actually PMd apo about the ribbons being for BF2 only.....he actually is looking for a way to make them more then just BF2....wants to make them for everygame...im working on a way to seperate them from the different games...ill post what i come up with
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: AA medals
Why seperate them if they apply to more than one game? Granted special forces expert or medic have no place in CS:S (actually, few (if any) of them do), but medic applies to AA, sniper could surely apply here and with GR, commander could apply to NS?

Re: AA medals

Re: AA medals
I think it should be seperated per game. Each game has their own environments, skills, people, etc. Just because you acted with valor in AA doesn't mean you did in BF2, just because you are a good sniper in BF2 doesn't mean you will be a good one in AA, etc. Furthermore, if you are inclined to do well in certain areas in one game and acquire medals, you should be able to shoot for them in other game and do well. Furthermore, many medals should have a temporal aspect, that is, you put in a good amount of time and do well, a medal is probably coming, which does not translate between games.
Just my 3 cents (inflation)

Re: AA medals
yah see by us making the medal per game it shows we play more and are getting good at our "trade'
what ever....just because you are a good sniper in BF2 doesn't mean you will be a good one in AAthat sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: AA medals
Isn't it just an evolutionary step up from bragging about kills? I don't claim to know the answer, but it was my instant reaction to your statement.
