Ghosting
Here's my take.
Pretty much when you die you are dead. Dead men don't talk. Of course I think there are a couple exceptions. Stating that you are down should be ok, or join the FriedFish trend and make gurgling sounds. I think that saying where you died is wrong and over the line. There is an in-game function called reporting in, use it, or pay attention to where your teammate said he was going.
I think that after you die, you should leave your Teamspeak defense/assault subchannel and move into the main AA channel. That way dead people can comment on how great your game play is or talk about the evolution of sports memorobilia or whatever. Then when the next round starts drop back into the subchannel. IMHO this should be an SOP.
What do you guys think?.

Re: Ghosting
Agreed. We have "dead mean don't talk" rules in just about every game here.

Re: Ghosting
You have my support on this. Just make sure you guys set up some TS binds to jump back and forth like CTRL+SHIFT+1 then 2 then 3 for all the channels. If you use Team Speak Overlay you can see what channel you are in while you are in the game. I noticed your gurgling sounds last night good sound effects...

Re: Ghosting
Wrong. The rule is "dead mean don't talk," not "dead men don't talk after they've announced that they've died."

Darkilla: In short, NS is pretty much really fast chess. With guns. Apophis: I haven't seen anyone say that SM's are better than non-SMs. Nordbomber: This is THE first server I've seen where either side can comeback from out of seemingly nowhere with the right teamwork. en4rcment: I have NEVER experienced the type of gameplay that I have found here. Nightly I am amazed at the personalities and gaming talent. Zephyr: Apophis is clearly a highly sophisticated self-aware AI construct that runs on a highly modified toaster oven in Wyzcrak's basement.

Re: Ghosting
Next time you kill me with your noob tube (either one!), Sloppy, I'll be waiting in the main AA channel to curse you! I've got my binds setup properly now so moving channels is safe again (used to have Control bound to fire, and Control was also a key I used to switch channels). If we agree to move around, I'll do that.

Re: Ghosting
Well, all you are doing is restating what the server message is saying so it is not new or extraneous information. But I could see it either way and will go with whatever official ruling there is. I won't stop making gurgling sounds unless forced not to because, it's too funny.

Re: Ghosting
I am cool with the gurgling or a quick "Mein Lamen!!!" ala Castle Wolfenstein :-)

Re: Ghosting
I think all this should be put in the SOPs. I do think that saying that you are dead is fine.
What I hate is when it is switching maps and everybody on my team switches to the other TS channel to chat with the other guys, I'm sitting there talking to myself
.
Maybe make it a standard that when switching maps, everybody should go to the default AA channel until teams are sorted.|TG-33rd|Dark_Viper

Re: Ghosting
I'm cool with switching channels to main after dying.
As far as saying you're dead. That's going to be much more important if we decide to turn off death messages.

Re: Ghosting
That would be clearly a violation. Since you may be giving information that wasn't already there. But there still is that death gurgle/choke/rattle.

Re: Ghosting
If we're trying for some realism in gaming, we can't announce we're dead. In real life you don't get dead people tipping you off. You don't get convenient messages appear in front of you.

I think will trying that out soon. I'd like to try everything at TG but time just doesn't seem to allow me too.

Re: Ghosting
Consider voicecomm death announcements illegal until an AA admin announces otherwise.
