    AAR - Fri 11/4

Well, this isn't much of an AAR, but I wanted to at least mention what great games we had last night. *That* was what I've been looking for with a TG game of AA. Once we got enough players on, even prior to passwording, and we could keep the teams 'realitively' consistent (I just gotta be with my 42nd homeys ) the games were just incredible. Awesome teamwork and tactics on both sides. Many maps were quite close, though a few were definitely blow outs for one side or the other (my body still lies bleeding in SF_Oasis... I'll have to go look for it before I can play again ).

    Good games everybody.

    TG!

Yep, good stuff all the way around. That game has a lot of potential if the right folks are involved.

    Good stuff.

If it is to be a AAR:
    1. I don't know the maps
    2. I can't identify friend from foe at a distance other than the person standing over my dead body.
    3. Keeping up with the homeys is very difficult, but we did a good job of reporting in game as well as through TS. The first couple of defense maps were very good for that.
    4. I have to get this n52 thing under control. jumping when you want to go prone is not good

    Very good games.

Identifying friend from foe is one of the hardest things. If they are wearing a helmet, they are friendly. The exception to this being the SF snipers that have the cool hat, and the ugly looking VIP in hospital. Friendly army units have backbacks and often NV goggles on their heads and friendly IFs look somewhat like UN forces with a cheaper budget. All opfor have ski masks.

It was a pleasure breaking off some 42nd. Please come again!

Maybe when we get together next time we can take like 10 or 15 minutes to load up different maps and get screenshots of the various opfor and friendlies.

yes, please bring in some more targets, er players, from other games. I'm going to try to use the server to bring in new blood when I can with global says. If we can get AA going to 6v6 or 8v8 it's going to be a blast (mmmm sniper rifle).

    Re: AAR - Fri 11/4

RPG: A very effective and powerful weapon with a large and deadly blast radius. I cringe when I hear someone call it the "noob tube" but I take it to mean, "damnit I just got owned by running out into the open even though I knew the opposition has an RPG and I need to vent my frustration at being such a ____"

Always consider your location as far as it's threat to you if an RPG should be incoming; are you very exposed? Do you think you'll see the enemy before he'll see you and if so and you see an enemy with an RPG can you displace and get cover?

Also, in regards to 203s, always consider that when you get in a firefight and suddenly the enemy stops shooting at you that he may be readying a 203 and it might be a good idea to displace.

Oh, and here's a thought. Don't like to get in CQB with the RPG? A valid fear because you may blow up the opfor, but yourself as well. Try using it creatively. Turn 180 degrees and fire, in most cases the RPG will either hit something to close to blow up in your face, or too far to matter (unless a teamate happens to be there). Either way, you'll laugh your ass off when you drop the opfor CQB style with your backblast....

This technique needs a name... "funnel of love"? I dunno.

Also, I wouldn't recommend intentionally trying to do this. Better to have an automatic weapon for CQB. Besides, why waste a rocket if you can use bullets. But in a pinch, it's a viable way to drop an opfor rather than trying to switch weapons or stand there like Gomer Pyle.
