Poll about an admins resposiblilty...
Last night we didn't have enough AA players to lock the server due to some BF2 tourney... so it was left open for the public and we had some fun anyway with about 6 to 8 members...
During the evening a honor 90+ named "yellow pee" played on our server... this kid was DYNOMITE... as soon as the game started he would run off on his own full speed, lobe some grenades, do some shooting and most of the time he would have 4 to 6 enemy kills within the first 2 minutes, I watched him because he performed some amazing lightning kills on me and so I questioned... but saw no cheating, he died rarely, but did once in a while... he would fire and miss on occasion... If he was on your team it was great for points, but his excellent playing skills pretty much ruined the gameplay for most, on both sides...
My question... as a player/admin... when a non-TG member is playing that well but ruining the gameplay and fun for members... should an admin politely kick him out with the explaination... or let him continue playing?Magnum

Re: Poll about an admins resposiblilty...
If he's not playing with the team, working to accomplish objectives, then away he goes. If he is, then he stays, regardless of skill.
Skill doesn't matter. Teamplay matters. Objectives matter. Communication matters.

well he definitely wasn't a team player, lol...
He plays AA like it's a FPS, instead of a STS... but he is damn good, lol...Magnum

THAT'S why you kick. 10 Honor or 1000: the key to a good game at TacticalGamer is communication and teamwork. Kicking for a difference in skill alone will only end up branding our server in the public eye.

thing is, our TS is only for SM's... this was an "open" game... so, yes... teamwork was difficult, unless on teamspeak... but I get your point.

Re: Poll about an admins resposiblilty...
I voted yes, but with the provision that only if they are not playing as a team. If they are skilled, and supporting the other team members, then they stay. If not, they go.

Actually, TS is *not* reserved for SM's only. You have to join the forums, which makes you a TG community member, and thereby grants rights to the TG TS.

But on to the point of kicking for being too skilled... it's no different than kicking for being too unskilled. To implement a rule like this goes against TG principles.
Teamwork is the key.
No teamwork... no play.
Period.

Re: Poll about an admins resposiblilty...
i voted yes just for the simple fact that if they are not playing with team work the boot them but if they are then its great for them
that sounds like a good idea trooper.

Re: Poll about an admins resposiblilty...
I agree with Mateo, Mirfee and Vulcan, Poker. If he is not playing as a team with us or another squad, we should encourage him to join up. If not willing then politely kick. We should have the same type play on AA that we have on our other servers.

Never kick because of skill.. Kick because of lack of teamwork.

It doesn't grant the rights, but you need to be logged into the forums to see the Announcements section with the TeamSpeak info.

I wouldn't endorse kicking people for being too good. But I would endorse kicking people for refusal to work with their team and being a lone-wolf.

Re: Poll about an admins resposiblilty...
I voted kick them.
NOT because they are 'too skilled', but because most 'skilled' players have a tendency to run off on their own as cited in this case. They do better Wolverine, racking up points, than moving with the unit and working together.

Re: Poll about an admins resposiblilty...
Whoa, if we're going to start kicking for not working as a team, I'd have to say yellow pee was definately not the only pubber that should have been under scrutiny last night. Maybe the easiest target because he was so visible but there are always, always, wanderers and rambos when there is no password and it fills up. Haven't seen them get any attention.
This opens up a can of worms about letting pubbers 1) know or have access to rules 2) getting warnings 3) getting kicked or banned.
