Talking Great games this night, Sun...

It is a true honor to finally find a bunch of gamers who "play the game the way it was meant to be played".

Tonight I played for 4 hours, both open and locked... TG was fantastic, using proper tactics, proper communications, and proper fun.

I've been playing AA since release, and have always loved the game, but found more gamers are into how good they can run and shoot, then how to work and play as a team.

I was in a couple of clans, and they had the teamwork, but big heads and too many rules usually caused conflict and ruined the fun of the game.

Tactical Gamer has a nice balance of both, and is a pleasure to game with you guys.

Keep up the good work/play.

Very good games tonight, Bridge was a massacure. Weapons Cache SE was alot of fun, tried out some different defenses and some old. GG everyone. Maybe we should make an AA movie sometime to get more interested.

Re: Great games this night, Sun...

Yeah, maybe that's my issue too. Although, that doesn't explain my 'nade TKs. At this rate, my honor will never get above 15.

My honor history:
10
9 (after 10 minutes and 2 tks)
10
11
10
11
12
11 <-- current.

LOL. Ah, well. I'm sure I'll improve over time. Did they have to make it so freakin' hard to identify OpFor?

Re: Great games this night, Sun...

You coulda had one more if your shooting wasn't so bad and caused Mirfee to TK you, Trooper

I hope you guys realize what a mess Bridge is now, even with just 5 or 6 people. Once you get 20+ in there, it's really not much more than team deathmatch.

I got pretty frustrated on IC.. ya'll got that data too damn many times for some reason. Never did figure out what was going on.

In BF2, IFF problems are due to bugs; in AA they're a feature

Re: Great games this night, Sun...

the best way to avoid FF is team communications, know where the enemy comes from, and in close quarters when your close on someone you do get a read "name" to show enemy.

I love the potential for friendly fire, when I first started playing I had that all the time myself, but you learn in time, it add's realism to the game... and think, future updates to this game is said to have innocent people walking around populated type areas...like a town/city.

I was so bummed by this. *Not* because Trooper 'started' it (or rather, continued his FF streak ) but because for once, I out-twitched somebody who had the drop on me, who fired first... *who scored hits on me*... and I still dropped em with a quick, instinctive snap burst without sights up. Woulda been a great kill if he weren't friendly.

I've gotten 'pretty good' about ID'ing targets, usually having the most difficulty when it's a a non-descript silouhette at the edge of viewing distance (or when surprised in an area that hasn't had positions clearly reported... which I think was Trooper's situation in this case)... but I *rarely* stop to ID a target if I'm taking fire and can spot the position... instinct means I return fire and check for tags later.

But TK stories around the campfire aside... *yes*... last nights games were outstanding examples of teamwork and the success and satisfaction that comes with it. God I love this place!

Re: Great games this night, Sun...

Defense has a huge advantage in this game. On the snow map last night, I racked up 11 kills in 3 rounds by just camping an objective. I switched to Offense to help them out and I think I only managed 1 kill for the next 7 rounds. I like the maps where both teams have to go for an objective and the ones with random spawns and objectives. I think they are more balanced.

Yea, those ones really far out there are sometimes tough. You can usually rely on the fanny packs or helmets or something, but I have a hard time making those out at times. When we were on Radio Tower the other night, I saw a blob laying down at a pretty good distance, asked over TS if it was anyone on our team (but we had one or two not on TS), then opened up with my stolen SAW. Turned out if was a dead body Or Oasis, the one with the sanddunes and the Hummers at the end of the river, can be pretty tough when your team splits up. As we learn the maps, things should become easier.

Polska, if you're around, what are your TS problems, aside from not having a working mic? Is there some technical problem we can help you with?

This game does heavily favor defenders that actually guard the objective. Weapons Cache SE? The only way the assault team should win (assuming the defenders aren't lost ) is when the defenders are wiped out. Courtyard is pretty cool with the random spawn points and objectives, but with one team defending and one team assaulting. Too bad I spend most of my time on that map constantly lost! Dockside with teams full of us on TS is fun, but is team deathmatch with random players. Extraction too. But then you have PCR (big building in the middle with a randomly placed briefcase) which almost always turns in to team deathmatch.
