For Friday nights games we will be trying the realism settings on the server.

Can't wait... I expect to see many eager players ready to get some dirt on their uniforms.

That was quite fun playing with the realism settings this past week.

Re: Realism Night, Friday!
I am almost done with training (except that "be a sneaky bastard" test of special forces. oh boy, isnt that fun?). But even If I pass it, I dont think I will be able to play with you guys
due to my low honor (server requires a certain level right?)

Ten honor is all that is required. If you are lower we can still help you out so stop by.

Re: Realism Night, Friday!
Until you get 15 honor and pass the "sneaky bastard" test, you can't play with your SOPMOD weapon. But you only need 10 honor to connect to the server for most maps (you start at 10, but can go down when you TrooperKill.. err.. teamkill). 15 + SF qual is required for like 4 of the maps, and those tend to get skipped when lower honor guys are on TS.
I'll give this realism stuff a try, but I'm not expecting to like it.

This is just an experiment to see if you guys like it or not. If you dont like it, dont leave just tell me and I can change it back. I will be asking for your opinion then so make sure to post after you try it out.

Re: Realism Night, Friday!
When you hear gunfire in the distance be sure to ask "Sloppy are you still alive?" and if you get no answer that can only mean things have gone wrong, very wrong. But don't fret, don't be afraid, because with my last dying breath I would have produced a newly sharpened #2 pencil from my belt pouch and stabbed the opfor deeply in the left thigh, repeatedly, until all breath has been evacuated from my lungs, leaving my still alive comrades with a freshly warm and semi-coagulated blood trail in which to follow the enemy to his innocuous hidey hole. And in my honor I would expect my vengeful comrades to stealthfully pounce upon the wounded prey and hopefully his medic with a flashbang and a grin. Dance around them I say, dance! Dance! Feel the meriment fill your soul, feel time slow in awe of the upcoming sacrifice! Throw the second flashband at him in order to honor his silenced bravery, come in close for the kill. Bow your head, take the shot, be done with the ritual, for there is more revenge to follow like a brooding river that circles around on itself, neverending.

I concur and yes it will be locked. So tonight would be the best time to train some of you new AA guys.

Agreed. Nothing like being dropped in the deep end to learn the extremes of this game.

No I'm not drunk! I am actually quite excited. I have -never- played a game with no ammo count to rely on or no death messages. I mean, it's really exciting to actually see an opfor drop dead rather than use in-game text to see if you scored a kill. And the teamwork is notched up because you have to actually -watch- each other's backs or you have to use comms to verify positions or if your teammates are actually alive. And if they don't answer it's kind of spooky, you don't know what your up against. And in order to communicate numbers and position you have to take time in engagement rather than go rambo in order to stay alive to convey such info to teammates.
It's such a subtle change, yet it has such a drastically different immersive feel.
Didn't mean to scare anyone with my previous post (or did I?)..

Sweet.
If I get killed am I aloud to say "0b1one is down" over TS?
