Problems connecting to ANY server.
I can do the traning and update my jacket online, but when trying to connect to any multiplayer server i get "cannot connect to master server" or something like that...
I may be low on Honor (17) but i've completed and passed all training except the Advanced Marksmen.
I can get an updated server list like 50% of the time, the rest it gives me the same problem when trying to connect.
I've already updated Punk Buster, and the pings on the server list are less than 150.
Anyone know what I may be doing wrong? It has been over a year since i've tryed to play.Oyee

Re: Problems connecting to ANY server.
Try switching to the Gamespy browser and see if that helps. Its in settings->Game, on that page you can select between the AA browser and the Gamespy browser.

Re: Problems connecting to ANY server.
Sorry for double, but I wanted to make sure someone saw this.
That didnt help, as a matter of fact I think it made things worse, before I was able to get a few servers, but I wasnt able to connect to them...
I switched back, and was able to connect to a server.. Only problem was I didnt stay on it because i went out to dinner... Blah blah blah, I came home started up AA and tryed to join a server... 1 hour later and things are still loading.
When i say 1 hour it was one hour. I sat for about 5 FULL mins, and when i noticed things were going to take a while I went and got a bit to eat and a drink... I came back, nothing, so, I called my girlfriend... 45 mins of talking and the computer not moving an inch I decided to take a shower... After I got out I watched the end of House "Which by the way ROCKS!'' and looked at the computer... Same thing. I gave up and closed AA... Im about to give up on it, if the only thing that'll work is single player training i might as well not take the space on my hardrive...
That is unless someone else has an Idea as to why this doesnt work...
P.S. I tryed the ingame help chat... It too doesnt connect. I've already uninstalled and reinstalled 2 times. I dont know what else could be the problem.Oyee

Fun, fun and more fun. But do not be selfish. Provide some fun and you will receive some fun.

Re: Problems connecting to ANY server.
Here is a post from Magnum. Could this also be the reason with the other sites?

Re: Problems connecting to ANY server.
Black Viper, can you post your specs or a dxdiag? I know some people in the america's army forum are having problems loading the new maps with only 512MB of RAM.

Re: Problems connecting to ANY server.
There are 2 suggestions. One is to manually increase your virtual memory to 2GB, the other is to lower as many in-game settings as possible to reduce the amount of memory needed.
To test if it's working, load the maps offline.
In the console, to open SF Snake Plain type:
open sfsnakeplain
To open Interdiction, type in the console:
open interdiction

Re: Problems connecting to ANY server.
Rgr, will try to see if that does anything, then i'll post back here with info.
Edit:
That seem'd to allow the single player to load... I'll try online later tonight. Thanks for the help!Last edited by Black_V!per; 09-18-2006 at 08:35 PM.

Re: Problems connecting to ANY server.
I read a recommendation in the AA forums to turn off 'preload all player skins' for those with lower ram too.
I have only just started messing with 2.7 and it seems there are plenty of new bugs to go around (I've hit 2 serious crashes so far).

Re: Problems connecting to ANY server.
Anyone tried opening ports? My router is the mother of all pains in the butt when it comes to ports.
You can find the posts list on the AA website.
Edit: Just to clarify I had the connect to master server problem, I opened ports and was fine.Last edited by Preston85; 10-03-2006 at 05:17 PM.
