Re: so, we have a winner or is AA dying...

Eh, I downloaded AA and played it for a bit, but bigger and better things are coming out (Quake Wars, 2142, ect.). It was a really fun game when I played it, but there isn't much of a member base like there is with Battlefield.

I'm not gonna waste my breathe tellling you what you wouldn't have in this world if it weren't for Macintosh computers, or Apple for that matter. Now please go back to your narrowminded field of view (your PC).

You should be happy enough there are people that have macs that want to play.... sheesh.

Rep point added. Funny stuff.

In all seriousness though MovingUnit_SOG. I don't think he was being purposefully mean-spirited towards Mac users. Here at TG, the members care about the games and the community. Any witty barbs regarding hardware (different systems/slow connections, etc) are just joking comments.

Hopefully they (or one of the Mac code masters) will release a compatible Mac AA version soon.

Just a query: Did the server troubles (folks getting pb kicked all the time and the interdiction map problem) get fixed?

The game is fun, I love the co-op mode and can't wait to see future maps... I just don't have fun when I'm booted every other game... infact it's no fun when you loose squad mates to these fricken' errors either.

I used to like playing AA. Until hackers would join the server and there was very little you could do about it.

Doesn't sound like much has changed.

Finding a good game with folks all on TS cooperating has always been difficult.

However, I see few to no hackers with 2.7 so far (AA 2.4 was a hackers dream... even pb was getting hacked regularly). I'd avoid the official Army servers since there's never an admin around on them. The non-lamer clan servers with admins around regularly and publicly available TS are your best bet for a no hassle game but they're few and far between. 2.7 does have too many glitches that made it past thier poor QC testing for me to call it a 'good' release.

I generally play 'elsewhere' or on servers (usually clan servers) with voip available (far too few of these around sadly). Hackers and jerks tend not to last long if they join on those kinds of servers. I've also been playing mostly coop with 2.7 so far (less incentive to hack playing the coop maps IMO) so that could certainly be part of why I haven't seen too many hacks in 2.7.

I wish we could lay some hefty clue stick lumps on TG's AA host to get them to fix the server. Of course then we'd need better turn out and more admins on regularly too.

Good to see Macintosh users here have a great sense of humour
I'd buy a Mac but for the fact that I am scared witless at the thought of becoming a 'Mac owner' ...
