i just wanted to post a quick thread up about the pace of the game. i know that right now it is very quick just like COD and CSS.
I am a partial problem to this situation.... rushing out of spawn. lets see if we can try the next couple of times that we are on if we can slow the pace down a little bit. we know the general play of the map now, lets see if we can come up with some good plans and start moving better within our fire teams.
i know that with both objectives activated, it is going to make for some good strats..... lets start to take the planing time and use them!!!

Very good idea. Introducing the VIP game mode would also slow the pace down alot. I am not sure if its random VIP or its a slot you can pick. Either way it would be alot of fun, but I am just worried about random PUG player who gets VIP rushing in and ruining the round.
I think the VIP is the squad leader or atleast it has been in the games I've played.

I played a few more VIP games and it does seem to be random who is selected as the VIP.

It's not random, players select if they want to be VIP by choosing the squad leader slot. If no one chooses it, then it does pick someone randomly to fill the slot--I'm not sure the criteria.
I hope the devs slow the pacing down a tad. I really enjoy VIP mode, so hopefully we can get it in rotation if it's not in already.
I think once there is a TG server, the pace won't be an issue (hopefully). I haven't had A LOT of luck with PUG's but a few times I have been on decent servers, and the pace was slow, considerate, and dare to use the word, tactical.
I dont think pace is the issue, its more of a strategy thing. If the strategy requires people to run to a certain place and setup, that shouldn't be discouraged. Games will naturally play out slowly if the teams are even and nobody is rushing whatever they are told to do.
Take VIP games for example. If the VIP manages to run all the way to the extraction point, the match ends usually in 1 minute. Unlike other types of obj games, VIP can be the fastest of the game types because of the ease of getting the VIP out against a team that doesn't defend.
I tried the new version of americas army several times now, and yea, the pace is ridiculous.... everyone is running around like rabid breeding super mutant rabbits!
Its like everyone on all the servers have extreme ADHD.... maybe I just had some bad experiences (played about 10 hours) but I dont think this game caters towards tactical, slow paced realism players or at least havnt played on a server yet that does...

This is a product of the players not the game. The players make the game what it is not the other way around.

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
