It seems that a few of us are getting completely frustrated with the AA training. What I would like to do is get constructive info only here about each phase of training with links if possible so that we may get our folks onto the battlefield. Step by step would be great.
Please refrain from discussions here, we have enough going on in other threads. Just plain ole working tips.
However, if you get tired of playing and need to take a break, quitting out of the training will reset you back at the very beginning.
Objective A
It took me three attempts to reach Objective A. The main thing is to crawl as much as possible and be aware of where the spying eyes are watching from. If the spies are turned the other direction, you can get up and run in some cases. I wouldn't recommend this though, as some spies are just pearing over hills so that their heads are the only thing visible, and they have binoculars!
You will come to a fork shortly after leaving the Landing Zone. You can either go straight or take the gully to the right. I didn't have any luck going straight as that leads you to a guard tower out in the open. Going to the right leads you to a guard tower with guards on the ground, but you have plenty of cover to hide in.
As you approach the first guard tower, stay way left, crawling next to the rocks. You will eventually reach a hill that you can climb to the left that will take you immediately to Objective A. Go slow and look for spies, as they can be easily avoided by crawling at slow speed.
Objective A is the area near the foot bridge. Just keep following your compass and you will reach it.
Objective B
Very hard. It took me no less than 10 attempts to reach B.
After you reach Objective A, you need to get to the bottom of the gully that the bridge spans. You can reach the gully to the left of the bridge or the right. I seemed to have less trouble reaching the gully to the right of the bridge.
Once you reach the bottom of the gully, you have a decision to make. Go left and follow the gully in a clockwise direction, or go right...counterclockwise. After five minutes or so, you will reach a bridge with a guard on it if you go left. I was never successful getting past this guard. I'm not saying it isn't possible, but after three attempts, I decided to try the other direction.
Going right leads you to a number of guard towers. Just follow the compass, stay low, go slow and you will advance most of the way safely. The problem comes about 3/4 of the way to Objecive B when you reach a narrow corridor between rocky outcroppings. You will know this area beacause you have just passed a grassy slope to the right where a guard is standing if you climb far enough.
This narrow corridor is almost impossible to get through, but not impossible. If you stay all the way to the left, you will be spotted. If you stay all the way to the right, you will be spotted. The trick is to stay to the left, advance slowly until a guard yells out and then stop! Wait till the guard is answered, then crawl back a foot or two and then cross the corridor so that you are now on the right side. Slowly advance and you should make it fine.
Another Way to B
This suggestion was emailed to me by a reader who allowed me to share the tip here. Thanks, Peter Peters:
"when going to (b) i went left and had no probs , but you do not go all the way to the second bridge.
just before the tree that is fallen across the gully or ditch your are in, there are some trees on the right, go into the trees and folow the path, it is a lot easier that way. hope this helps."
Objective C
Easy one, I made it on my second try. The first guard tower looks tough because it completely lights up your path, but don't worry, just stay to the left and you'll be fine...slow and low.
When you come to the bridge, I recommend climbing into the gully to the left of the bridge, then follow the gully all the way to the dead end. Very close to the dead end is a slope to the left that can be climbed, but be careful. There is a guard at the top of the slope that can spot you if you go too fast. Fortunately he turns the other direction for long periods of time, so just time him, and advance to your compass position. You are very close to Objective C and the truck you see just ahead of you is the vehicle you use to signal for extraction.
It's official, the E&E training is a PITA. We need to designate a few people who know it like the back of their hand, so they can take the test for us sucky TG'ers!

This route worked for me. What the guide *doesn't* tell you, is that this route is littered with soldiers, and at one point you have to sneak past a guy sitting in the camp, when he's only a few feet of you and keeps looking in the direction you want to go.
I had the same path through objective B.. was a bit hairy.. but worked out.
With objective C, that path is not working for me. I stick to the left under the tower, but he always catches me moving from the tree in the middle to the 3rd tree. I've gone slow, even played cat and mouse, but I haven't been able to get that route to work yet.
go just infront of that bush at C, dont go into it

any other tips?
We're Talking about the SF E&E right? if we are then there is a way to get past. Your SOME GRENADES got it? A well placed smoke screen will alert them to your presence, but the mission ends only if they see you and confirm that it's you. so after poping smoke move fast past the guards, then hide before the smoke dissapates. Just don't waste the smoke on a guard that you're sure that you can sneak past.
quite simple really.
300 to 1? No problem. Might need more bullets though...
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:
