Discussion: America's Army / America's Army - Tactics and Missions Discussion - final 12/4 scrim pre-brief... - OK, less then 2 hours till our first scrim men... a couple of review things
OK, less then 2 hours till our first scrim men... a couple of review things to go over before the match...
connect to our TS server by 1945 hours (eastern).
We will try and have a scrim sub-channel created, once the team is decided, all non-players please move to the default AA channel, and standby incase someone needs to leave.
Turbo is the man in charge tonight, he decides who is in tonight, starting with SM's then moving to the most active "forum members".
If you show up but aren't picked to scrim tonight, you will be top priority next time.
We will then all connect to our AA server, then when we and the other team are ready we will lock the server, and re-start it in Tourney mode.
All TG players join the TG side, duh? lol
Once again Turbo is team leader, he gets that spot, when the tourney starts both teams get a planning stage, meaning your free to roam around the map and see the map, and even see the enemy but can't shoot each other... It will say in the top by the HUD, that it is in planning stage, with a count down.
Notice what fire team you join, A, B, or C... it's on the join screen and in your HUD, top right... if your in a team follow your team leader, if your the team leader, keep your men together... but all listen to TURBO, as the team leader.
When in planning mode, Turbo should be doing the most talking, talking about his plan in brief... he only needs to say, A, B, or C fire team go east, west ect ect... don't use names (because all won't remember the names).
during mission turbo should be doing most talking, except if/when you see enemy report how many, location/direction... know the parts of the map.
Fireteams keep your men with you, obey Turbo (someone else will be lead next scrim).
after the game, don't talk or complain much, a little feedback ok, but nows not the time for stories, Turbo should be talking about the plan for the next game in the match...
Mix up what you do leader/fire team leaders... humans are predictable, after you do the same thing twice, you can bet the other guys are talking about that.
and finally... HAVE FUN! it's a game...win or lose, play with honor, pride, and dedication to the game way and the TG way.
after wards stick around for a few beers (21 and older only please, lol) and a debrief.
This will probably work better. We all have the TS binds setup for Assault, Defense, AA channel. When we die jump to the main AA channel to discuss what happened and what we can do next time. We have 20sec between games so we have time to switch back.
We will also setup a chain of command so when I go down someone will take over right away.
It is not often that I encounter across myself when researching a topic. I found the following in a recent article on the uses of ethnography in virtual environments:

Took a gamble and got a refurbished 30 GB OCZ Vertex 1 off of NewEgg for the low, low price of $30. Had some trouble getting the drive to be recognized by Windows or by my BIOS. Had to use a jumper...
It has been almost 6 months now and I am still waiting for the second peer-review report to come in for my next book (this one is on the future of television).
Things usually unfold faster than...
