What is going on????

ok I know there is a post already about the server but nothing seems to be getting done.....something has changed within the last month and honestly the server is really starting to stink as far as lag spikes and crashes. I tried sniping today and it was pathetic!!!! my scope would zoom or unzoom randomly it was so bad! Is this being addressed????the box is acting like it doesn't have enough CPU or we are getting routed differently but it is seriously an issue. I don't wanna get anyone mad but this is not the server we had or there is a serious issue with the box.

The box is the same, in the same location. Perhaps there are some issues with the routing, as you mentioned. How are the rest of you experiencing the server?

I havent been on for the past week or so, but i do not recall any exceptionally bad lagging within the past month. Venman may have been overstating the timeframe, or it has gotten a lot worse in the few days since i last played this game.

I'd have to say it has started lagging over the past week as well. It also seems like it's crashing more often. My ping is usually in the 40-60 range.

Crashes are down but Lag spikes are up. Lag is sometimes server wide and sometimes it just isolated to one or 2 people. All reports are almost with full servers 90%+.

I haven't played 2142 more than twice since quake wars came out and before that, I got lag spikes a lot too. Ping was great, but it still lagged and it wasn't because of my hardware.

All I know is it never, ever ,ever, looked like slide show when I played on our server.....and lately I have gotten slide shows!! its not all the time but it is 3-4 times a round and my ping is 35-45, I have done internet health checks in my area and everything is green so I have no clue what it is but it is annoying

There is another thread, not too long ago named Server stability or something like that. The lagging is getting bad, I know I've posted about it before within the last couple of weeks. Sometimes it is very difficult to play. As I stated before besides the teamwork, one of the major reasons I enjoyed the TG server and became a supporting member is because of how smoothly the server ran.

I for one am willing to stand up and say that I disagree that crashes are down. In the past 2-3 weeks I have experienced more crashes on the TG BF2142 Conquest server than the whole rest of my stay here at TG combined. It seems to me that every time I play on our server lately I have at least one round that crashes half way through without fail. The last time it happened was Saturday afternoon time on a 1/2-3/4 full verdun map. I posted about it in the server stability thread and was informed that it was an EA crash so I'm not sure that that particular situation report helps much.
Anywho, since Tempus asked I thought I would give my perspective. Thanks.

I would have to agree with Rali3gh, every time I play it seems that the server crashes at least once. I played on Saturday and Sunday(10-27 & 10-28) in the afternoon(EDT) and both days the server crashed. I used to log the crashes so that I could post them, but there has been quite a few lately. It really hurts with the people that are used to the stability, even if it does come back up in 5 to 10 minutes. I did also experience a couple of lag spikes on both days. When I play topnight I will check the ping, usually my ping is very low and not a problem.

I don't know what the problem is. My suspicion is that it isn't anything to do with the server, more likely a PB problem, but Tempus and Apophis are definitely aware of the issue and working on it. They've been in touch with our server host.

I got some wired lags, too. Mind you my ping is 110 from Europe (Some poor Westcoasters have a worse Ping ) but you can definetly feel it.

My favorite has been the 1-3 second pause! This really sucks if your in the middle of a heavy firefight or worse, flying a transport full of troops!

My ping typically in the 30s-40s, and I've noticed definite increase in the instances of lag lately. Given that I haven't been in-game much the last few weeks, the instances are definitely noticeable.

Not always server-wide, doesn't always result in a complete freeze. Experienced dropped connections in POE last night as well.

I wont pile on as much as agree with everything stated here so far, the quality of gameplay is suffering right now. We appreciate any updates you guys have and thanks for working on this.
