Crysis - Reviews
As we are getting close to launch I thought I would create a thread on reviews.
First one I found: PC-Gamer Magazine 98/100 (Only three games in history of PC-Gamer has got 98) http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/cr...669&pid=931665 |

Re: Crysis - Reviews
Yeah, that rating alone makes me worry a lot less about this game. My only gripe will probably be the multiplayer, but, there are some mods that look promising, so lets hope for the best.
Didn't realize the 16th is far away...

Re: Crysis - Reviews
It's got to have nice graphics or I can't really get interested into the game, kills the immersion. I can handle decent graphics, if the gameplay is top notch. Like quake wars has OK graphics, nothing special, but the gameplay was good.

If you haven't played the MP Beta, I wouldn't be so fast to say that. If you have and thats your cup of tea, enjoy.

Seriously though, judging from the demo level, I do think this game is gonna be deserving of the ratings its getting.

Re: Crysis - Reviews
The more I play it, the more I love this game. I must have played through the demo and it's updated maps a dozen times so far, doing different things, toying with the bad guys. Just the fact that maps have come out so quickly shows that there will be alot of development for this game. Really looking forward to the game and the major mods like Obsidians Edge that are being developed.
I'm happy with the reviews as it hints that there will be alot of gameplay variation in the later levels.

Re: Crysis - Reviews
I feel the same way, the more I play the crysis demo and get distracted by other new next gen games, I just feel that crysis is just at a new level of immersion. This is not due the graphics its mainly for physics and the sandbox type gameplay. There is just so many options to do things, its almost like a strategy game mixed with a FPS and some RPG added for good measure.
I actually have to think about tactics and strategy when I play single player, sure the AI might not be as Phd smart as Crytek talked about but they are not totaly scripted like other recent games. Its like a new genre of FPS. I really hope we get more games like this. Lately we have had few advances in how FPS games play. Its all the same run and gun action in diffrent forms. Crysis and Bioshock tries to change this, Bioshock with its story + new gameplay and Crysis with its advanced game engine and full physics. |
