If there's anyone that knows teamwork, it's you guys. I'm a hardcore BF2 player in a very squad oriented clan. In BF2, you can easily make squads, and have a squad leader to group up on. The TG server is a blast with the Project Reality mod.
Back to CoD4, I've read that there are no squads, but only small maps. So if you want to get a small (5 troops) squad together, it would have to be over VOIP. This makes for a very crowded VOIP server when there are 2 or more squads. If you are split in channels, then you have no communication other than text in-game. Anyway, should I dump the 50 on this game?

Re: Sell me, guys. (CoD4)
I believe this game will bring teamspeak back to TG, or at least back to us BF2 and 2142 guys. Teamspeak would enable you to have different squad channels. You could elect squad leaders and let them use the VOIP to communicate with other squads, while the squad members used mostly TS.

Re: Sell me, guys. (CoD4)
No need, game has its own in game VOIP that works wonders... and usually (at least in CoD2) SL was elected at the start and the team was essentially the squad. Amazing enough, there was rarely any confusion (as everyone followed the SOP for comms really well!)
Also, the maps may be small, but that doesn't mean they aren't any fun. CoD was never about 64 player ogries :P Yet the action was always very intense, even when the server only had a few people on.. I think that's what so many like about CoD multiplayer. You don't need large maps, vehicles and a ton of players to have good matches.

Re: Sell me, guys. (CoD4)
Good point on the size of the maps. The MP scales very well. I've played several rounds of HQ mode where it is only 2 vs 2 or 4 vs 4, and it was just as fun as a full server. Bodes well for low population times on our own server!

Re: Sell me, guys. (CoD4)
I'm waiting for my Steam copy to unlock. COD4 runs very well and looks good on my non-cutting edge machine so I'm giving it a try. Haven't played the other COD titles but all of the reviews I've been reading on COD4 are shining, a rarity these days.
