hey it's me again.lol...

quick question

bought a new copy of BF2 cause i had to...downloaded the v1.41 and now it wont start when i click on it to install...anyone else ever had this problem?

sorry if this is in the wrong thread area it's just pissing me off!..

Also, make sure you check your processor light when waiting for the patch to install. Whenever I install on of EA's stupid little patches, it takes like 2-3 mins before the patch installer actually pops up, yet my processors are working at like 50% load the whole time (i've got a quad core, for a dual core, it'd be closer to 90-100% load). I think it has something to do with their crappy packaging system and the fact that they still use a 5 year old installer.

OMG the damn thing still doesn't start the setup!!! i reformatted my laptop and everything..needed to anyways loads of junk on there.lol

it shows in the task Manager under processes but then nothing!!!

so now i'm waiting on the PR mod to download and wow nelly this is pissing me off!!!.lol

I say start it, leave the room, and come back in ten minutes. Took FOREVER for the installer to finally pop up on my machine.

Could be a bad patch. Did you download the one straight from the BF2 website? Try geoing through fileshack or one of the other host sites. The third option is to simply pick up a supporting membership and download it from TG.

yea went to the EA bf2 site.....and this is the second time i DL'ed it in two days.lol

it did this before but never took this long

I'd say anything upto an hour is normal on the average well used system. If you have tons of space on seperate drives and its all perfectly defragmented then it'd be much quicker.

The average file size on the pr mod is 120k I think I measured it. The time taken would also be more then doubled if the source file, temp dir and destination dir are all on the same drive
