G-fix issues

Mostly at game spawn start up but sometimes through the game I get solid black images which flicker into full colour.
It can be like fighting shadows before they suddenly display the full image.

nb It's not every images just the odd car, brick, barrel, tooper etc

It's not a big problem but I wonder if there is a fix for it

Can anyone help.

Thanks

Re: G-fix issues

I get the same thing.. I can only guess that it is my Video card.

During SP I was getting some crazy color changes on statics.. Some were Hot pink at a distance, then would change back to normal when I get closer... And the lightmaps on the AI were flashing on and off.

But all black items are probably a light map problem with the GPU drivers.. With no light map the item gets no colors.

I turned down my video setting and they are not as bad, but I still see some weird light map issues.

Re: G-fix issues

Yeah Thanks Angel.

I had this posted by a m8 on an UK clan site I visit>>>

HE SAID >>> This nvidia beta driver may help some ppl who have black models in cod4.

BE WARNED, it has caused many peoples machines to only load up in 4 bit colour and require roll-backs of drivers. often helps 7,000 series of cards.

http://www.nvidia.com/Download/betad...spx?lang=en-us

there may well be other solutions, but this was found to work for a reasonable majority of ppl. However i had to go back to old version as i found these beta drivers stopped my game being able to make graphics changes through the ingame menu, and it stops you being able to run a test lan server and play on the same server all on 1 pc (only needed for modding).

Nvidia 163.75 full drivers seem to remove the black textures and bugs for me, but are defo slower than the beta 1's. some ppl are saying if u go back quite a few versions of drivers they are much faster, but varies for person to person barny.

Re: G-fix issues

I found this somewhere... I also have 7000 series.

Here is the Link

This is where I found it... Please do backup your current driver just in case things go wrong. I do not want to responsible for crashing your system. Also make sure your card is in the list of the Products supported.

I know what it is, i had the exact problem lucky for you, you get help straight away, and dont have to work it out for yourself. I got a 7800GS, and in call of duty 4 all the grass and trees where black, i updated drivers to 163.75 whql, it did nothing, then i went to update it again and it gave me 169.9 beta drivers which fixed the black retardedness but the models where flashing. Then i downlaoded 169.4 beta drivers and it works fine, that should definitely fix it for you. Only 7 series people experience this problem and i dont know why.

Get your butt in on some TG COD 4 action my man. I was hoping we'd see you along this path sometime. I've taken a break from ArmA and am so pleased to see others like Finestyle, Barnaby, myself and a bunch of other ArmA players looking to play this title on TG servers. 99% of the COD4 servers out there are R & G (COD just lends itself to this so well) but we are striving to create a tactical realism server here that replicates what we did on COD2. It took time for the COD2 server to develop and evolve as I'm sure it will for the COD 4 server. All in all it's been loads of fun over the past three weeks or so and I expect it to continue. Get Fire488 on down too.....

I'll Still play some Arma now and then but truthfully the big appeal of Armed Assault really lay in how the 1st was going to implement it as the primary game for the unit. RL reared it's head and many members of the 1st are now either inactive, have drifted away or have gone on hiatus. The primary reason I bought the title was to play with the 1st. I looked forward to developing a new lexicon and sop's centered around this excellent infantry simulator. This just hasn't panned out as I had hoped and though there are lots of great players in Arma doing some unbelievable gaming I'm just not drawn to it as I had been at the beginning. Don't know why I'm saying all this but there it is...cmon down and see us on the COD 4 server.
See you Curt.
