man am i pissed, save file...

All that work i did and i go to boot it up today, no profile, no saves... lost it all and have no clue how the heck it happened, haven't changed or added anything since before the last time i played...

then i notice it is at v1.1, so I click update and it tells me it's already updated and won't let me install the patch...

and yet another reason why I am loving my console more and more. ;(

And if you go and look "C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles" is there anything in that folder?

yes, says Magnum... but then when I start the game it comes up with the create profile.... where does the save file save?

Should be within your Magnum folder. Other than that I'm kinda clueless.

it was working fine and with the latest patch too... i think it is my new system w/ vista... it did a pc cleanup and a couple of my games lost files and saves. ;(

Did you turn off UAC?

if you played the game without running "run as administrator" then launch as admin for some reason it won't pick up the profile you made while being a non admin at least thats what I've found also if you installed and ran the game with UAC on then turned it off that can cause problems with profiles.
