Ebay.

I am surprised no one has brought this up. I was wondering how many TGers are into Ebay.

I just got my Blue star. I am really into Ebay now since I am collecting anime figures, buying OOP Lego, etc.

Re: Ebay.

Only used it a few times, mostly to buy Magic cards and other trifles. Normally I'd be slightly embarassed to admit to having been a Magic player, but since porn doll guy starts the thread, I'll be the lesser of weevils. I've considered selling some stuff on it, but never found the ambition to actually figure out what I want to sell that isn't more appropriate to throw away and be done with.

Re: Ebay.

I got burned on ebay the second time I used it, way back in 1999, and I rarely even visit the site anymore...

Re: Ebay.

I infrequently will use ebay to get hard-to-find items or things like replacement parts, which can cost a fortune if you get them from the manufacturers.

Re: Ebay.

I use it for electronic type items from time to time. Mice, Bluetooth, ect. I find that eBay has the better deals 90% of the time. I've never had an issue, *knock on wood*

Re: Ebay.

I've sold a bunch of stuff on it including a motorcycle, jetski, camera equipment, widescreen HDTVs and more. I've also bought a bunch from eBay but usually smaller stuff such as camera lenses, water filters for my fridge, etc.

Re: Ebay.

I usually use E-bay when I'm looking for something thats out of print (or insert appropriate terminology for items that arent printed to begin with). You can usually find someone whos selling an old copy of whatever you wanted to buy. That said you can find some pretty good deals on used current items sometimes too, and I've never been burned by a seller.

Re: Ebay.

I used eBay for the first time a couple of weeks ago to get a LOTR sword (I have another one shipping as we speak) So far all is good "touch wood" and I have no complaints.

I'm sorry to hear you got burnt Cingular - may I ask what you were burnt on?

Burned the first time I used it, never went back. I'll stick to a legitimate retailer for spending money online.

Re: Ebay.

I never use it. Have heard good and bad stories, but my card will not be used on that.

Re: Ebay.

Sold my custom 86' firebird on ebay. The folks from Canada had to leave it at the border for 3 days though while they waited for the title to clear, kinda felt bad at first since they live a good 4 hours from it, but they gave me bad rep because I didn't know about it. Havent really used it much for buying though.

Re: Ebay.

I've made my living on eBay for the past 5 years or so, it can be risky if you are not careful, but if you take the appropriate precautions, it's fairly safe to buy there.

A replacement battery pack for a cordless phone. It was only like $40, but back then that was a lot of money for us... Besides, it's the principal of the matter that really bugs me. If I don't trust someone, I don't give them my money. Ebay inspires zero extra trust in any of the sellers.

Re: Ebay.

I have had a few bad experiences mainly buying bootleg figures by mistake. In total I would say I have two bootlegs that I bought.

On a side note man I really hate this. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=310002866149

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=310002325596

I am used to fighting over anime statues and that is easy because most anime fans are high school/colleged aged so they tend to be broke. Fighting over these DC figures is a pain.

Re: Ebay.

I'm a sucker for a good deal. I've had great experiences except for one counterfeit SD card. Paypal reimbursed me right away though.
