PoE2 v2.5 Hitting Servers on Friday July 25th

Welcome back to another POE news update! As we mentioned in our last news, we've been testing the next release client for PoE2 and testing has gone extremely well. After getting the Testers seal of approval, we are pleased to announce the next release of PoE2 will be on Friday July 25th! This version will be labeled 2.5 We will be releasing the server files on Wednesday July 23rd so you have plenty of time to set up your boxes ready for Fridays' client release.

Hundreds of man-hours of hard work have gone into making this release one of our best yet. The contents of our change log for this version give a brief overview of what you can expect in 2.5. Click the image below to see what we've been up to.

One of the new features to see in this release is the introduction of more destructible statics thanks to the hard work of Dr. Destructo. Many of the new maps feature his destructible static’s but Melitopol Depot stands out as most of the map is made up of the good Dr.’s destructible environments. Don't blow everything up at once.

PoE:2 News #125

Welcome to another PoE2 news update. We are happy to announce that we are in Release Client testing for our next version of PoE2. Stay tuned to our news page for more info on when we will be releasing along with showcasing more of the things you can expect in PoE2 2.5.

First off to show today is a new map named Kharkiv by Greasy Mullet. This is an urban map that features the US Military taking on the Ukraine defenders in the city, which will primarily be about infantry tactics. The map got a nice lightmap polish by Jilted when he did the lighting in 3Dmax. This map will ship with AI straight out of the box so you single player/coop fans will be able to enjoy it.

Speaking of Single Player, in our current public release we have 16 maps with single player. Dorayacoop and Cold Fussion have been hard at work on our coming patch, we will have 7 more maps getting single player updates, 2 of which are brand new maps. The older maps getting updates include Olesko Keep, Pripyat, Op Sabre, Lutsk, and Guardian whilst the new maps shipping with Single Player are Matador and Kharkiv.

TG Roots: Tactical Mod Night!

TG Roots: Tactical Mod Night!
brought to you by the 6th Devils Brigade.

What is TacMod?
TacMod was an all-TG modification (by SgtDuke) in an effort to enhance teamwork, increase the need for tactics and improve the TG ethos to Battlefield 2. TacMod edits the existing BF2 gameplay with updated kits, weapon damages, and most of all some of the most memorable BF2 community made maps of all time.

TacMod FAQ
What happened to TacMod?
TacMod continued to grow in popularity at TG until SgtDuke made some real life changes and moved across the world. The timing coincided with the increased popularity of Project Reality. Eventually the BF2 TG'ers moved onto (Project Reality). Project Reality overtook both TacMod and Vanilla here at TG. TG stopped supporting TacMod around .4 and by early 2007 (With the release of PR .5) TG had completely switched to Project Reality. Ever wonder where old-school PR maps such as Operation Compton,
Inishail Forest, Greasy Mullet, Pheonix, and Steel Thunder came from? TacMod, baby.

While TacMod did not outlive other mods here at TG, it's modification and features eventually found a home in Project Reality.
Many of TG's most veteran PR players found their roots with Vanilla BF2 and TG's infamous TacMod.

Armed Assault - Warfare and 1.14 Final Patch
May 27, 2008 - 9:04 PM - by TheBigC

Go Ahead and put ArmA in your cross hairs!!

Announcing the 1.14 (Final) patch for Armed Assault. Over the past year and a half the game has grown exponentially, but was always seeming a bit handcuffed by bugs since its inception. With the final patch it consolidated various user modifications, Beta Tests and overall enhancements that were in the works for a long time.

But believe it or not, Bohemia Interactive (BI) came out of nowhere with their entire addition of a new map and game play mode that has taken ArmA by storm, Warfare. For those of you who do not already know there were only 2 maps on ArmA. The missions themselves were based on those large scale maps, even though there were infinite possibilities for mission creations. But with the new map (Southern Sahari) it opens up even more possibilities for mission creation. That added to the much more robust mission editor will lead to countless new twists on the Armed Assault Community.

But the addition of a new map and patch are overshadowed by the totally new style of game play that is so addictive. Warfare has combined various styles of game play and brought it into the forefront of fun. For those of you who have been following the game, it is a combination of Capture the Flag, Evolution, Domination, and various other MODS over the past year. BI created a format in which you now have a leader that controls virtually all aspects of playing. This includes designating what type of team they are (infantry, mechanized, e.t.c) and what their order are.

The format itself is either 16 players (8 vs. 8) or 32 players (16 vs. 16). The teams can be configured however you like, the empty slots can even be filled by AI which are much improved in their realistic aggressiveness towards fighting. The AI now have the ability to be much more realistic by acting more human in flanking and playing like a human.

Tactical Gamer Presents: Infantry Only night!

Tactical Gamer Presents: Infantry Only night!

We have all been there before. You have a solid infantry squad with excellent communication. Everything thus far has been great. You have stopped several enemy advancements and you think you have done it. Then out of nowhere....BOOM!!! A Main Battle Tank 800 meters away have shelled your entire squad. And he just sits there...waiting.

Well not this time. Now it is the infantries time to shine. No more "CAS" squads. No more "Armor" squads. No more "Helo" squads. Just some good ol' fashion GRUNT work. So lace them boots up and get rid of your tankers helmet and flight gear...you are on the ground soldier.

When: 24 May 2008
Time: 5 pm CST
Maps: Kashan Desert, Qwai River, Battle for Qinling, Operation Ghost Train, EJOD Desert, Daqing Oilfields, Kyong ni'....
Rules: Each side will spawn with 5 Transport trucks and 5 Support trucks. Building Firebase's and Bunkers will be essential for additional vehicles. All other TG PR rules will still be enforced.

I would also like to send a thanks Fuzzhead for modifying the server files so we can get this set up. I hope to see you all there.
