Thumbs up Release this friday (14/12/07).

So it 's gonna be released this weekend... at last .

I myself am a dedicated PR player (although I haven't played it in a month due to a fried GPU) but I 'm definitely looking forward to play this mod. I just hope it has the right balance between realism and fun... like PR.

I assume there will be a TG server hosting this, as it has its own forum now ?

So... I never played FH for 1942. How can we expect this to be different from the other mods out there in terms of gameplay? I get the WW2 setting, but what else is different with this mod?

Good question Beatnik. So far I think we've seen that much attentional to detail is in this mod. I also expect a fairly realistic approach.

But to be honest only the devs of the mod know. There will be plenty of opinions on the forum shortly I assume.

I think their biggest mistake is waiting so long, I prefer PR 's approach. Feedback is the number one key for a good game and that 's what you need the community for. I have no doubt on the graphics side of the mod, but I have no idea what to expect from the gameplay as I never played the '42 version.

Lets hope we don't get disappointed.

I can't fathom the amount of work that goes into something like this... 2yrs seems about right considering everything was done on the side - for FREE. I'm anxious to see how the game play works out.

I can't imagine it either. If its TG supported, and TGers are intending to play... thats endorsement enough for me. I'll give it a shot.

Re: Release this friday (14/12/07).

Let me tell you: FH defined my gaming for over two years. I played on the same server with the same people everyday without fail for atleast 1-2 hours. It was the only thing I played and I know it inside out. I made some excellent friends on the WOLF server (The community for which WOLFServers.com, TG's BF2142 Server provider, was created to support).

The WOLF server has been playing FH for years and years. I would rank it up there with TG's PR server. It has a very similar, mature, team work orientated gaming crowd. Infact, when I left FH because I thought I'd move on to greener pastures until FH2, the TG PR server was the closest replacement to my beloved WOLF server. FH is NOT PR, however, let me tell you, it is well worth the download.

I'm sorry to say that for the large part, I'll be on WOLF's FH server for FH2 and not TG's, but I'll pop around

They posted a new training video on their website, together with what looks like a very nice tool . See here.

Comparing the FH2 development process to PR isn't exactly fair. PR was adding realism but keeping the original time frame of the game. The FH2 guys in going back to WW II had to re-model everything I'd imagine. So in other words their base starting point no doubt took a hell of a lot more effort. From here on out I'm sure we'll see incremental versions in a style similar to PR. Or at least I hope so anyhow.

FH is an amazing mod. One of the best teams out there for any game. We are all in for a treat with an extremly well thought out and polished mod. Best part is this is only the start...

You're not worried that it will muscle in on your territory Greasy? Or are you gonna meet the new kid in the alley and 'talk things over'?

Re: Release this friday (14/12/07).

Dude I am a huge mod fan. The more mods the better. Hopefully it attracts new players to mods across the board because BF2 mods only have about 1% of the total BF2 player population yet mods have the better product.

As I said, I am just a huge mod fan and there is plenty of room for us all.

Re: Release this friday (14/12/07).

shall i say on Greasy's behalf, mods FTW!

and i am looking forward to this FH, im downloading it right now. There seems to have been a small uproar of sorts in ingame chats, teamspeak and other places you hear about it and from what iv heard its pretty awesome!

I think PR was the first mod i ever play and TG the first mod server i ever played on, i am gonna be very picky over this.!
