TAXES IN PERSPECTIVE:
The next time you hear a politician use the
word 'billion' in a casual manner, think about
whether you want the 'politicians' spending
YOUR tax money.




A billion is a difficult number to comprehend,
but one advertising agency did a good job of
putting that figure into some perspective in
one of its releases.


A. A billion seconds ago it was 1959.
B. A billion minutes ago Jesus was alive.
C. A billion hours ago our ancestors were
living in the Stone Age.
D. A billion days ago no-one walked on the earth on two feet.
E. A billion dollars ago was only 8 hours and 20 minutes, at the rate our government is spending it.




While this thought is still fresh in our brain, let's take a look at New Orleans It's amazing what you can learn with some simple division .


Louisiana Senator, Mary Landrieu (D), is presently asking the Congress for $250 BILLION to rebuild New Orleans Interesting number, what does it mean?


A. Well, if you are one of 484,674 residents of
New Orleans (every man, woman, child), you
each get $516,528.
B. Or, if you have one of the 188,251 homes in
New Orleans , your home gets $1,329,787.
C. Or, if you are a family of four, your family
gets $2,066,012.
Washington, D.C . HELLO!!! ... Are all your calculators broken??


Tax his land,

STILL THINK THIS IS FUNNY?
Not one of these taxes existed 100 years ago,
and our nation was the most prosperous in the world.


We had absolutely no national debt, had the largest middle class in the world, and Mom stayed home to raise the kids.


What happened? Can you spell 'politicians!'
And I still have to 'press 1' for English.

Additionally, to put $250 billion intro prospective for you, we are spending $660.9 billion this year on the Department of Defense, Global War on Terror, and Homeland Security alone.

And if Ron Paul somehow wins, a lot of that will get chopped. It will return to the taxpayers, and the States can then raise their taxes to use it locally. Or the taxpayers can use it to buy stuff and stimulate the economy and create new jobs. Or they can save it, and those who borrow from the banks where it's saved can use it to expand their businesses or buy new homes, again stimulating the economy.

Since the late 1960s, Sweden has had the highest tax quota (as percentage of GDP) in the industrialized world, although today the difference between other high-tax countries such as France, Belgium and Denmark has narrowed. Sweden has a two step progressive tax scale with a municipal income tax of about 30% and an additional high-income state tax of 20–25% when a salary exceeds roughly 300,000 SEK per year. The employing company pays an additional 32% of an "employer's fee". In addition, a national VAT of 25% or 18% is added to many things bought by private citizens, with the exception of food (12% VAT), transportation, and books (6% VAT). Certain items are subject to additional taxes, e.g. electricity, petrol/diesel and alcoholic beverages.

Speculate that you earn 100k (swedish crowns) each month.
With the "employer's fee" hidden tax, the government gets 92k and you 40k.
And that's when you get to start paying $7,5 per gallon for gasoline.

100 years ago we didn't have

Many paved roads
A dominate military
Good drinking water for just about everybody
Human waste being properly disposed of
Regulated medical supplies



But we did have
Regular flooding in many places that displaced many
Droughts that wiped out farmers hard work
Children dying from many different diseases
Education that was spotty at best

A good portion of the taxes go to things we all enjoy and benefit from. And, yes, a sizable portion goes toward god knows what. Oil companies getting tax breaks when they are? A highway to no place? Rural electrification?


Overall there are programs that could be cut but even then the costs needed to run this country would be in the trillions. There is just no way around it. Things cost money.

So you'd rather have more conveniences over freedom (to speak, think, be and defend yourself as you so decide) and equal taxation? A sizable portion of that money goes to the military industrial complex.. most of it to the aerospace devision. At least 75% of all of our taxes combined is used in defense. There is a way around it.. stop supporting a treasonous government and demand the constitution be re-affirmed as it was before the federal reserve hijacked our country.

Hah, I wish that much of our taxes went to defense! Not even close. More than 2/3 of our taxes go to entitlement and wealth transfer programs. Do you have any idea how much our military could accomplish if we actually spent that much money on it?

I'm not a big fan of taxes. One thing to consider however is that the tax dollars doesn't just disappear. All those billions of dollars in taxes spent here means jobs for the US. Just something to consider I guess.
