Call of Duty 4 1.4 patch problem...

When trying to install COD4, I had to reinstall it for some strange reason. After the install I reboot, and proceed to run the patch. It tells me it detects that I already have the patch installed. Help! I do not have the patch installed and it will not let me progress further. Even saying yes to uninstall said patch and rebooting it still says the same thing. Thanks for any and all help.

If you reinstalled, it is quite possible that you had files from the previous install still intact..
so uninstall , delete folders.. and start over

Did that as well. Also went through the registry and cleaned it out. Still a no go. Very strange.

Perhaps a roll back to a previous computer state?
