I find this unlock pretty useless, APM's are only effective againts lone wolves and on titan maps, and bait is more effect againts mines.

as a sidenote for those who don't know MMB also destroys EMP mines and RDX/APM mines, if placed in very close proximity

Huh, I knew it would take out EMP mines, but I've never seen it work on APM or RDX, I'll have to try that sometimes.

This is a great Engineer unlock for those without Northern Strike and I still stand by mine when on the move.

For those who don't have MMB, it is a good way of clearing out rogue enemy motion mines so that armor can get through.

yea, this really isn't a good unlock, sure in a jam you could use it, but more than likely someone else in the squad has MMB unlocked, your better off going with some other kit and letting the guy MMB go with engi.

I have to agree with the consensus that motion-mine bait (MMB) is a far more effective unlock for clearing out mines then the defuser. The only time I can see one using the defuser is if a player doesn't have enough unlock points to unlock it. I feel you are exposed to fire for too long using the defuser.

I stick with the MM Bait, the defuser leaves you out i the open too long. As for the APM's, you can crouch and get by them. If you are in armor, just before you get in pick the MM Bait, as you come up on mines you just jump out and throw it. Jump back in, your exposure is minimum. The last weapon in your hand before you enter a vehicle is the one you will come out with, so pick wisely.

Don't worry man, everyone has to work with what he/she has and there's nothing stopping an Engie from being successful without NS. And if you have the Pilum, you can already Squad unlock it after a match or two anyways.

Not sure if you can squad unlock NS content without NS though. Would kinda defeat the purpose of being NS only if you could unlock it that way which is an eventuality with TG.

Actually I'm 90% certain you can unlock NS unlocks as field upgrades, the insentive to buying NS is mostly the half a dozen free unlocks you can get within 30 mins of playing.

And I suppose for all the lone wolves that don't join squads to acquire field upgrades (never a problem on TG servers)

Regardless, 10 bucks is worth the frustration of having to clicky on each mine. But don't worry..not telling anyone to go out and buy it. lol. In my squad the engineer will have bait. The defuser user will be a medic.
