I don't like playing in betas but I'll definitely give the game a go when it is released. That's assuming it has VOIP. If not then I'll wait until it does.

I choose definitely buying, but not at first release. Probably a month or so later.

If the multiplayer gameplay is solid, I plan to purchase this title. However, I will probably opt for the Xbox 360 version.

I'm with Pfeil on this one.

I found this quote from the backstory hilarious;

"Regions such as Canada and California, that could support their populations with domestic resources, found themselves sacrificing these resources to fund acquisition projects in far flung places, many of which were failures."

Places like California are already sacrificing their resources for the rest of the nation! *slaps own forehead*

I'll be very curious to see how true they can stay to this statement because that would make for some epic, intense tactical situations. Count me in for sure.

If the frontline is pushed forward and forward then you cap out the enemy
If the timer or tickets end and the both teams still have CPs then its a second level victory on ticket count

Re: What's your interest level in Frontlines?

Based on play in the beta, I'm actually surprised how well the frontlines-mechanism works. I thought it would be a bit constricting, but it's not - it really does just focus the battle... Although, you only see 2 flags on the frontline on your map - the trick is the other team has a different front-line - so there are really 4-flags being fought over, as they try to take your next level of flags while you're trying to get theirs.

I do wonder how it will work on larger player-count servers (max in beta is 48 players). Currently, there's no more than 2 flags 'capturable' on the frontline - I wonder if there will be 3 or 4 flags on some of the bigger maps?

Re: What's your interest level in Frontlines?

I will most likely snag this when they announce the new release date. As much as I enjoy 2142, I am starting to tire of it and of EA's apathy towards it. I played the beta the other night, and will be playing more this week, but from what I see once they work the bugs out this will be a very solid game and a very enjoyable one. The frontlines feature is a great idea that definitely works to the advantage of all, and I enjoy the class-work and the drones. Gives it a "modern" feel that's authentic.

Re: What's your interest level in Frontlines?

one of the earlier maps (not sure of the name) did, in fact, have 3 points in the middle and was pretty big. Not sure about 4 though
