Video Card Upgrade???

My Specs
6600 C2D
2GB Mem
1900xt

I was experiencing quite a bit of lag in beta. I am taking sabbatical, so I am watching my cash right now. I was wondering if I should go ahead and order a 8800GT or should I wait for launch and see if the lag gets fixed. Any ideas?

Can't hurt to wait for the release version.. .they supposedly made some optimizations, and a lot of things in the beta were hard-coded on/off (so adjusting video settings might not have actually adjusted video settings). Plus 8800's are only going to get cheaper if you wait

I know I should wait

.... I just wanted to be able to rationalize buying a new card for some instant gratification in an attempt to quiet my withdrawal feelings from having the game so mercilessly taken away.

Nvidia will be releasing their new card (9000 series) very, very soon I believe. Watch for the cards below it (8800GT, 8800GTX etc) to drop in price. Reports say they will also be releasing a mid-range GeForce 9*** card in June and that should bring another price drop to current cards. It's almost always better to buy any electronics after companies release their new model lines in the spring.

I have a P4 2.4Ghz, 2GB RAM and a Radeon 7800GS and was able to play at Medium settings with little lag.

hmmmm....that settles it. My video card gets one more appeal, but it's still on death row.
